Mushroom Wars 2: Defense game

Very good strategy real time game. Enjoy it and the tactics a lot There are times when it crashes for a day or two at a time for me so means a 4/5 The buy to win is annoying but I just surrender anyone obviously overpowered - move on No forced ad watching but certainly helps at the beginning to get chests etc …..

Seriously bad connection issues, in addition to the game freezing mid battle, and seemingly a lot of bugs too. Will try for a bit longer, but this might be one of the quickest tryouts before deleting a game I’ve ever done.

If you play enough games you realise how bad the morale star system makes it, as other comments mention. It forces you to play only the most basic luck based strategies, or it could just make you wait ages at the end when you’re winning but your opponent has more stars than you (you outnumber them so they can’t attack you or they’d lose their morale stars, but the stars make it so your superior number mean nothing when attacking). It’s fun when a move goes off but it’s not as good as it could have been, mushroom wars 3 might have been really good.

The mechanics of the game are quite good and it is fun to play when evenly matched, however this is rarely the case. The vast majority of matches are decided by who has the most upgrades, ultimately undermining any skill or strategy deployed. The player pool drops off a cliff at a certain level, resulting in long queue times and the inevitable match up against an opponent with significantly greater upgrades. Therefore, if you play enough, you will eventually get to a point where you can’t win unless paying for upgrades. The UI is insulting to players. If you slightly miss where you try to press, be prepared to accidentally spend your gems or real money. It’s borderline a scam. It’s a shame where this game has come to, considering how good the original iteration was.

I get there needs to be an economic return for the time and resources invested from the developers. But i think it has become too greedy, you can just buy all the stuff and for a couple hundred dollars you’ll become invencible, im sure is not the fun of the game. Hope it goes to a more balanced game in the future, where you can buy stuff to craft your heros but not everything. I use to play before when it was cool guys. Not anymore after a couple rounds this time

Still a fun game, but after picking it back up again recently the single player mode has been hidden behind a paywall even though I had previously played through most of it.

2 stars because I haven’t deleted it….yet Even once you pay for the app you still get bombarded with in app purchase ads. I understand pay to win for online is pretty standard nowadays but even for the campaign I can’t see how you can win at any of the higher levels on harder difficulties without buying upgrades. You can set it to easy and progress but there is little resistance by the ai. Set it to hard and it is more challenging but in most levels you start with half the force of the enemy and you get swarmed. Not very balanced and the amount of in app purchases is over the top.

You’ll have fun for a while but eventually be matched with opponents who have all levelled up to the max. This would require thousands of hours of game time or hundreds of bucks frustrating to say the least. Developers try make matching making more fair ie make skill levels at least a little more balanced!
