3 Letter CVC Words Formation

Education | Learn Spellings

Published by: Naveed Abbas

Description

The CVC Words app uses a phonics based instructional approach used in early language education to teach how to read and spell words. It helps to decode words by recognising the individual phonemes and blending them together.
Practicing this app regularly helps students learn how to decode words by recognising the individual letters and blending them together. For example, students learn that the letter "b" represents the /b/ sound, and the letter "a" represents the /æ/ sound, so when they see the letters "b" and "a" together, they can sound out the word "bat."
A star is given for every word completion that indicates the number of times a specific word is formed during practice. Stars can be reset at any time.
This app also improves vocabulary and promotes phonetic learning. The app is ideal to be practiced in the classroom and is equally beneficial to be practiced in the home.
The app consumes a very small amount of disk space, thus can be kept in the device for as long as required.
Clean & animated interface, beautiful relative images, studio quality voiceover and a handful selection of words makes it perfect for an ideal learning app.

3 Letter CVC Words Formation Reviews

Poor quality

lisalel on

United States

Pronunciation is incorrect on many of the words, as even my 5 year old pointed out the numerous errors. Very disappointed.

English as a second language…

nomogino on

United States

…is what you’ll learn here. The consonants are not pronounced correctly for American English but perhaps in India, this would work. I like the idea of the app but it would teach the wrong consonant sounds for Western English.

Letters are pronounced incorrectly

aafabarez on

United States

I like the concept of the app, but the child sounding out the letters isn’t sounding them out correctly. She or he is making a ‘d’ sound with the letter ‘r.’ They’re also making ‘d’ sound with the letter ‘t.’ It seems as though English is a second language for the child sounding out the words and letters. If I’m having my children practice letter sounds through this app and they’re practicing them incorrectly, it defeats the purpose. Also…the half naked fat guy illustration for ‘fat’ is a little inappropriate.

Some poor word choices

MarcyWA on

United States

The concept is good but I could do without the shirtless, overweight man illustrating FAT and the revolver illustrating GUN. Distracting from the aim of the lesson, not kind and works against the aim of a peaceful classroom.

Very good efforts

Very nice app for kids and parents can teach easily all the cvc words with ease.

Great app but too much ads

Marsena Ledbetter on

United States

I rarely see good educational apps that are available on one time purchase but this one is producing too many ads. I couldn’t even evaluate it with free of mind.

One star only.

Sharmae Dows on

Lovely app but deserves only ONE star for ads. Please remove the ads.

We want it for our school

Brendell Weald on

We want to install this app in our school but we have no idea how to stop the ads. Please help.

Request for features

Lanesia Benditt on

I am writing a detailed email as a feature request for this app. This app is just going in good direction but there’s plenty of room for improvement.
