Operators, this free companion app for 6:Siege - The Board Game is a must-have tool to play the game under optimum operational conditions. More than a glorified yet efficient chess clock, this handy and immersive app creates instant tension.
It helps you keep track of the time allotted to a squad, speed settings, and timing effects while enjoying this stimulating board game with sound design and visuals lifted from the videogame.
This dedicated app is an entertaining, practical, and functional tool, saving you significant time and effort calculating each time effect using traditional methods or a generic timer app.
MAIN SECTION & SETTINGS
The main page lets you determine the number of players and shows two buttons. One button will direct you to the living FAQ for the game, hosted on Steamforged Games’ website and updated by the development team. The other one allows you to turn on/off the sound effects and ambient music, which contains Ubisoft’s tracks and sounds from the video game.
Each menu has its theme and rhythm, and when a timer reaches 30 seconds, a standard signal can be heard, matching a bomb’s beeping sound from the blockbuster…which speeds up for the last five seconds to end with a longer distinctive bleep, clearly signaling time is over!
The settings page will allow you to name your squad and to set each team’s timer speed from one of the four available speed settings (1 – Beginner, 2 – Chill, 3 – Standard, or 4 – Extreme). This can create asymmetry or give a team or a specific player a handicap.
SWAP TIMERS AND CHALLENGE
Each player must complete their two activation phases within a limited time, defined by the number of Operators still in play at the start of the round. During each activation phase, players take turns to activate some of their Operators.
With this app, you can decide with a simple tap if you want your time to flow, if you're going to stop your opponent’s time, or if you want to swap a timer with the other player’s time. Some actions may be challenged, and the pause button will allow you to add or deduct 30 seconds to a timer immediately.
UPKEEP SECTION
Several buttons are available here to keep track of the allotted time for each squad, which depends on the number of Operators still in play, or to keep track of the game rounds and victory conditions. You can start the next round, get to Overtime, or end the game if one team has succeeded in their mission!
