AA Smartfuel FAQ
Is AA Smartfuel free?
Yes, AA Smartfuel is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is AA Smartfuel legit?
⚠️ The AA Smartfuel app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
tried to log in app only due to acessing rewards, only to find out they closed my AA Membership card staff unable to reverse error, apologized, advised get a one card, they will put back 20c previously on my AA card like omg yeah wasnt happy for a while
They’re lying about the surveys
I got a notification today saying something like ‘do these surveys and get discounts’. Thought I’d give it a whirl.
Went through the onboarding process where they share my data, then ask me how old I am, my gender, where I live etc. Annoying but fine.
Now I can do a survey to earn 2c off per litre. Ok… not much, but let’s see there this goes. More annoyingly, survey couldn’t remember anything I just told them, and asked me all the same questions again (gender, age etc.), then a bunch of questions about toy companies. Took a while, was clunky, but ok.
My ‘reward’ - I don’t qualify for the discount.
Waste of time and misleading. Moral of the story: don’t bother doing the surveys.
Doesn’t work with AA membership card
Hopeless. It worked with a onecard from the supermarket but doesn’t work with the card for a premium aa membership, it asks for a 4 digit number at the back of the card - where none is listed. I called support about this and they couldn’t help. Your devs might want to consider some basic testing before releasing an app that doesn’t connect to their aa membership card!

It’s a amazing app! Really helpful and it is functional. The user interface is nice! As a user, the user experience is really good. Highly recommended!
Dr Dan
Amazing app, great functions. Allows me to use the digital card instead of carrying my wallet around and I stay up to date with all the relevant offers!
Why expiring the points?!
So I have earned those points with my money and you expire them for what ? Seriously, piss off AA.
Crashing with iOS 16.1.1
Won’t open just crashes when you tap to open please update urgently
More Password Stupidity
So you need to use a specific password to fit the prescribed parameters the app developers set? Not great. Oh and it has to be ‘at least 8 characters’ but what they mean is it can only be 8 characters, no more can be added, so I can’t use a go-to password and instead need forever after to remember exactly what password I was just forced to invent specifically for this stupid app? Ok, that’s me out before I even got started. App deleted.
Useless app
Useless app, won’t even let me sign in. When entering my email address and password to sign in to an existing account, it keeps saying wrong email/username/password. I’ve tried resetting my password multiple times on the AA website, deleting and reinstalling the app, etc. but nothing works. The AA website user portal is also clunky and old fashioned. Very frustrating that a big company like this can’t update their tech to the modern age and actually get it to work!
Doesn’t work
Pretty hard to review an app that doesn’t load beyond its opening screen.
