Previously wrote a bit of a bad review immediately on release of the new app. However there have been a few updates in a short period of time, which have sorted a lot of the bugs that it had initially. The YouTube tutorials help a lot and given a bit more time for release of some more features will make this by far the best ballistic app available. A lot to look forward to..
I’m impressed with the AB App, it seems to have come a long way in the years since the previous reviews. It is pricey but the alternative to access the AB ballistics engine is to purchase pricey devices with it embedded. On opening the app you get an (almost) blank screen, but tap the plus (+) sign and set up your first rifle, select the rifle and the next screen is for ammo set up in the same way, then target. It soon becomes familiar and effective. Swipe left (iPhone) to edit or delete. It doesn’t Bluetooth to weathermeter yet (iPhone) but should be available soon. Having read most of Bryan Litz’ books it is clear that AB know their subject, and given their expertise I’m persuaded that their ballistic engine is the one to have. As development of the app continues it is likely to become the industry standard. Well done AB!
New versions drops all data in re-opening and all my ballistics observations, including my rifle specifics lost. Absolutely dreadful App Earlier versions were really helpful, but now.... avoid at all costs. Even when avoiding upgrading App, it still drops all previous records....
Awful, outdated app. Total waste of money. I paid the expensive £28 to gain access to the custom drag profiles, however they are an additional in app purchase. Total rip off. Keep with StrelokPro. Shame on you Bryan Litz
Totally unintuitive, graphics look like they’re meant for iPhone 4, should have preset rifle data for £28.99! Wish I hadn’t bought this. It’s ugly, lacks direction, lacks presets for rifles, costs a lot for very little.
Has the foundation needed by a good solid app. But needs far more work. E.g. When entering data, don't make any mistakes, as there's no obvious way of deleting or changing the created entries. Settings are to generalised so don't have much control about mixing/matching say imperial/metric. When creating an entry, you don't get much by way of help to understanding what a given setting does. Will keep my eyes open for upgrades, but for the time being iSnipe is my app of choice. It also supporting Litz's good work. But without the hefty price tag.
I love what you all do there at AB. I have most of your books and they have been a big help in my long range adventure. However, I have to draw the line at forced subscriptions. The amount of work that looks like goes into your CDMs is awesome, and I can appreciate it, but for people that only need a few of them and can get by with G1 or G7 models for most shooting is not worth it. I would be willing to pay a few bucks for an app to have unlimited profiles, then a few bucks a piece for the few CDMs I would like to use. There will be no recurring payment for additional features I will not use. Hopefully there will be a happy medium found one day in this dichotomy that applies not only to phone apps these days. Keep up the good work!!
The new quantum app is bar none above and beyond anyone else in the industry. The user interface is fluid and easy to navigate. There are so many useful features packed in this. And the new ability to be able to sync up to other AB devices is awesome. It’s worth it and there’s quite a few YouTube videos out now to help explain the new things. If you’re serious about this sport it’s worth it.
Got a full view of the app and eventhough its a big improvement over previous version this upgrade is also way over price with an endless yearly fee.
No reticle support for any Vortex scopes. Yes they are copyrighted, but Vortex is one of the most popular scopes in America. Make an effort.
