Description

The OBDII scanner app with a special support of Subaru (MY2012+) make. It's the next-generation product based on our well-known "ActiveOBD for Subaru" app bringing its best features to iOS users. A compatible OBD adapter is required.
Premium-level adapters supported (best speed and stability):
- OBDLink MX+;
- OBDLink CX;
- vLinker MC+.
Entry-level adapters supported (moderate speed, good stability):
- Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE).
Other adapters supported:
- Viecar Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE), Vgate iCar Pro WiFi, Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+.
We do NOT support the majority of cheap ELM327 v2.1 clones.
The basic free version already includes CVT Oil Temperature, CVT ratio and AWD duty (%) parameter readings and nice gauge screen ! Note: some of these parameters are inaccessible on some model ranges.
The full version (subscription) includes extra parameters reading and features, such as graphs building, logging ("premium-level adapter" required), trouble codes reading.
Note: for resource consumption optimization reason the data collection for graphs/logging activates upon accessing these functions and terminates with the current app session.

ActiveOBD Reviews

Kiwi support

Meangst246885 on

United States

Still waiting on the developers reply to my previous review inquiring about Kiwi 3 Bluetooth support. The release notes from 3 years ago state that this app added support for Bluetooth LE OBD readers. Kiwi uses BLE 4.1 which IS supported by other major OBD apps for iOS. Why exclude support for this app developer?

NOT working with OBDLink MX+???

NOT working with OBDLink MX+??? Wanted to purchase as I have a 2019 Subaru Outback and like to get CVT temps. I guess we’ll never know. Complete failure on Developers part as request for OBDLink MX+ support was requested on a review from TWO YEARS AGO!!!

$14.99 was the full version before. Thats the reason I got the cheap one obd

Before this app you can use full version if you pay $14.99. Thats why weve purchased this and the developer change, i think everyone needs profit. Yes you read it right, what you specified cheap obd I bought theCHEAP OBd ELM. But before you allow us to BUY THE FULL VERSION of the app and i bought that subscription now i cant use the full version coz of the cheap obd c’mon maybe you can refund us CHEAP OBD for you but we Subscribed! Sorry was disappointed coz its been awhile I didn’t open the app and read what you wrote CHEAP OBD ELM 👍goodluck

Nice job

Finally an app for both iOS and Android! Works decently well on an old android but can’t connect to my OBD2 reader on iOS that uses Bluetooth 3. I’ve been trying to diagnose a TPMS error and you give tire pressure. It looks like they are pretty close but I’m wondering 1. what equation do you use to convert to PSI/kPa? 2. Any chance to get more information from TPMS besides tire pressure?

Works well to read Crosstrek CVT temperature

This is so far the only app in IOS can read Subaru Crosstrek CVT temperature, recommended

This app is saving my Subey from abuse

Huge thanks to the developers for making this app. I have seen that transmission oil light too many times. When I finally found this app and could read the specific readouts of the car I was able to diagnose overheating on my CVT. Luckily a 3rd party OBD sensor from ENGIE is compatible with this app. Making use of older Bluetooth protocols. Huge kudos!! Feature request: Better logging of data so that I can more adequately track trips and climbs. Elevation is an important variable. Roll and Pitch of the vehicle too. I know those are not part of the the ECU however useful to understand the car. Thanks again you are saving my CVTF/ATF from over abuse !

Does this work with a bafx wireless wifi reader for iPhone?

Customer Service

Hannerrrrrrrrr on

Leaving a 5 star review due to the responsive customer service. This app doesn’t work with my 2003 Forester but customer service indicated it will work on 2008 and up models.

Doesn’t work with OBDLINK MX+ or CX

N0Surrender on

United States

Update: Doesn’t work with one of the most popular OBD scanners Went and bought the OBD Link CX and BAFX OBD. This app won’t connect to either device. When connecting to the CX it says it’s pairing then stops and says disconnected.

No support for OBDLINK MX+

Subaruguy87 on

United States

Kinda disappointed that this app does not support the MX+ but supports the lower end CX model.
