Worked for a while, now app just displays “out of range” even though the app itself says the headphones are connected….

Headphones ok but the app is completely useless

App works fine but have to keep redownloading it because apparently my headphones are out of range when they’re clearly turned on and in range of my phone, while being connected via Bluetooth. Fix this.

I have been trying to connect my earbuds to the app and it never finds them… terrible

The app won’t connect to my headphones

Like other reviews my app says my headphones are out of range even though the app is also showing they are connected and I can listen to music and I’m literally next to my phone. This out of range nonsense prevents you from using any of the apps features, which sadly means you end up deleting and re-Installing the app to get it to be in range as it’s only ever in range when you first connect them to the app, because Its the only way to check battery level so I know when to next charge. The equaliser is meh and you don’t need the skip or volume as you can do that with the button on the headset making it a very frustrating setup. You’re also meant to be able to setup some functions using the other button but it’s not very clear how to do this so another pointless feature. Please sort it out Adidas, I didn’t pay a small fortune to have a set of standard headphones.

Good: The app seems ok for equaliser settings and battery status. Bad: The dedicated action button for the Adidas rpt-01 can’t be changed to activate apps other than Spotify. I’d love to assign the action button to open my favourite app such as Audible. But I can’t. I’ve read the help articles and user guide but this doesn’t seem possible. So don’t know if the frustrating restriction is a bug or intentional lock-in to use Spotify only.

Great looking app design, but fails on most other counts. The EQ settings are strange, one called Adidas is flat, great clarity, but lacks bass. As soon as you change it, even slightly, it becomes muffled. The sound completely changes and there’s no way to get close to the Adidas EQ setting. As for firmware, there’s an update as soon as I connect to the app. It tells you to keep the earphones turned on and close to the phone. After waiting a while, the update downloads, goes through the process and fails. When you try again, the firmware needs to be downloaded again, and fails again. I have tried four times. I’ve deleted the app, unpaired the headphones, tried pairing using the OS, then trying again. Fail. It looks like the earphones disconnect in the process and then can’t be discovered again. There doesn’t seem to be a way to check the firmware version to see if the app is displaying a false negative. I won’t be using this until it works. No knowledgebase to speak of, nowhere to find if someone has had the same issue. Great headphones, a terrible app.
