This app was running a VPN that was instalef without my consent.

Unrealiable

Lifetime subscriber here. Unfortunately your VPN filter crashes a lot - resulting in no Internet connectivity and currently it is blocking my Uber app.

No longer working with YouTube ads

Ops 2345 on

Australia

As at March 29 2024, YouTube ads started to slip through.

Does not block ads.

Install this the other day, expecting it to block ads however it only block ads blocks ads for each page. If you turn it on for that specific page at the time that you load the page which is a waste of time and pointless it’s not what you expect an ad blocker to do, and I’m very disappointed in this app.

Didn’t work

The tyranny of US commerce

Pedro Sydney on

I purchased Adblock for my iPhone and iPad some weeks ago. The app worked effectively for a few days and then ceased to be of any use (on YouTube’s or any site via Safari and Firefox). The issue if I understand the technology is that staffers at companies such as YouTube are employed to constantly update algorithms to override advertisement blocking apps, and not one “ad’ blocker” can keep pace with this corporate behaviour that is as morally justifiable as pernicious, opportunistic hackers. I sincerely wish I had no necessity to deal with any US based software and/or media company. However, in a world dominated by aggressive, self possessed US commerce, few people have this luxury. I am far from happy with Adblock’s providing of up to date app information, and YouTube’s ghastly, reprehensible bottom line. To use an old English phrase, a pox on the lot of them.

Not that good tbh

After uninstalling. At first it looks like it work. But tbh most of the time instead of ads you just get freeze or it doesn’t load. The amount of times you get. Black screen or just waitting for it to load is the same amount of time as the ads almost.

Excellent for my uses

It’s brilliant once you get the hang of it. Mostly I use it to watch Youtube movies ad free and full screen, but its important to learn that you have to touch the screen to bring up, and explore, the little back/forward, expand the picture signs etc. I don’t bother to turn it off if while searching/googling it won’t go to a URL which involves a product ad; I just find another route to get there. Well worth the very modest fee. (Initially I thought I’d quit it, and am SO glad I controlled myself and got my brain working on it. That worked.)

Don’t pay for this

Causes apps to freeze / crash when it would usually play an ad. Watching ads is actually better than restarting your game every few minutes. The apps that don’t crash just play the ad like usual.
