Over the last 12 months, the market has proved to be challenging and complex. We know that volatile stocks perform better when markets are trending up, but we also know that these kind of stocks fall more when markets are trending down. The AEGIS algorithm is a few percentage points more volatile than the market (MSCI World). Nevertheless, it has performed significantly better (+25.7%) under a number of economic scenarios.
AEGIS is not built on any of the typical strategies. It is not momentum, AI, value, index, technical analysis or the likes. It is built on a non-speculative algorithm (TL) that does not try to predict or time the market. To emphasize this, stocks are purchased automatically on the same day every month - no matter the market conditions. It does not study the market nor the current stocks in the portfolio, because we don’t believe we can achieve knowledge that the market does not already have.
The algorithm looks only at future volatility (non-directional) in an intelligent way. We focus on a strikingly simple mathematical conclusion that never changes.
