I have used Adobe for the last 25 years and it cost a lot over that time. I saw Affinity publisher, Designer and Photot is being sold as a bundle, decided to make the jump. Does everything I need for the work I do these days. Works well on all platforms, very happy indeed!
I have used the Affinity suite of software for the DTP of proposal documents and find it quicker and easier to use than InDesign. Great software and woiuld not be without it!
Wow! I was going to purchase the full v2 licence for all platforms. 24hrs later the price had gone from £99 to £144.99 - I think that is a touch ecessive. Oh well that put me off.... What a lovely surprise, the developer reached out to me with information that helped me go ahead with my purchase. I look forward to exploring the full featureset of these apps. To everyone at Serif Labs - Keep up your wonderful, hard work. best wishes :)
Loaded the V2 licence on my MacBook Pro and try as I might, could not get it to activate. Checked the forums and what worked for me was loading the App, then launch the app and click the "Buy" button from inside the app in the account menu located in the top left corner. It activated and now runs the full software on my MacBook Pro, my Surface Pro and my IPad. Good App but Sarif only get four stars from me for the complex activation nightmare....I should not have to do that just to run it.
The App itself is amazing and for the price it deserves 5 stars. The only downside was the registration process. The license seems to be linked to one program and if you open a different one after purchasing - it invalidates the license for all versions. Actually - If you are logged into your correct Apple App store account and you click on the buy button again (on the Affinity App's launch screen), it realises you already bought the software, then gives you the opportunity to register it. Having developed some iPad Apps, and seeing how over convoluted Apple make things.... I'm sure a big part of the problem is on Apple's side.
Obvious bug when buying. How did this pass QC? Apart from that ultra frustrating and unacceptable error, the software is excellent, capable, professional and lots of bang for the buck. In fact you don't get bang for the buck you get a nuclear blast for your buck. Will get four starts when the licensing bug is sorted. I still have some niggles and some things need sorting and simplifying as they are too convoluted. For example, colour palette, and tables. Try to give a text box a background colour is not straight forward. You know minor user niggles that do distract from the enjoyment of actually using the software, Don't get me strated on the use of a trackpad with your pages flying all over the place. And so on. More work and thought for the user for that last star.
Assuming Affinity Designer 2 for iPad was the app where you purchased the Universal License, please select the 'Buy Now' option - this should force refresh your account and detect the purchase from the App Store, you should not need to actually complete the purchase again.
MacAppStore version won't activate. Apple have charged my credit card twice. None of Affinity Suite v2 works for me. £180 and still having to use v1 - Great job Apple & Serif.
This is a nightmare. I'm really keen to support a company like Serif who don't follow the subscription model. Huge kudos to them for that however, the licensing process is a complete mess. Download from the App store. Purchase from within the App. Thats it - no way to associate with my Serif account as per the instructions on their website. Have reached out to the support group but am yet to hear from anyone. Poor
