This app needs A LOT of work to get to fitnesspal honestly, data base is poor, UI on certain elements are incomplete, no tracking of macros!! Only protein. For it to be better than myfitnesspal as they claimed in the add you need to do everything they do plus the AI thing otherwise it’s not worth it at all.
As someone who has religiously tracked calories for the last 10 years, and also who has religiously failed so many times, this is exactly what I needed!! Easy, quick, relatable and on top of that motivational (even the husband is intrigued now). I also love the fact that when I clicked on the pregnant option it didn’t tell me that I could not do it. It is about health for me at the moment, but no other tracker “includes” pregnant women. Thank you for creating the perfect app.
Good app 👍🏻
The concept of this app is absolutely brilliant. The use of AI to help track calories particularly when exact data from barcodes or weights isn’t available is a really neat way of keeping up some form of calorie tracking whilst away from your own kitchen. However when you do have exact measurements or a barcode available the registered food database used by the app appears to be incredibly limited or inconsistent (maybe 20% of the items I’ve tried to scan using a barcode have been successfully matched, with the rest requiring me to input data myself and then scan again). Also, when giving the AI the exact brand and measurement of products, this still doesn’t always match what appears on the packaging from the retailer. Unfortunately this casts some doubt into my mind as to how accurate the tracking I’m relying on the AI to fill in can be (for example meals from the office canteen). I’ve no doubt the product will improve over time, but it’s disappointing that you have to sign up for a year with only a week’s free trial, which isn’t long enough to begin to notice the shortcomings of the app, and you’re then locked in having paid. That being said, I agree with the creator’s go-to opinion in his TikTok comments section which is that “some tracking is better than nothing”, even if not always 100% accurate, and this certainly makes that task much easier and keeps me on my goal better than nothing at all.
Love the concept and the simplicity of this. The less time I spend tracking and thinking about diet the better chance I have of eating sensibly. Like many others the more time I spend thinking about not overeating the more I crave the worst foods. So making tracking this simple is definitely a great idea. Unfortunately the food database lets it down. I searched verified entries for large eggs and get a long list of results ranging from 79 cals to 131 cals. That’s nonsense. In response to developer comment below. As I said. I searched VERIFIED entries for a LARGE egg. The list I get back was nonsense. There are many other examples. Putting the new so interface isn’t enough on its own. The food database needs cleansing and proper verification. Further response. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect that when I search for something specific, like Large Egg, to get results for exactly that thing. A base level function of any saleable app I’d have thought.
The app design is poor with large basic childlike shapes and a confusing layout. When entering numericsl values eg your weight, the input keyboard obscures the other UI so you have no way to confirm the input and remove the keyboard. You have to tap above it. This poor design pervades the app The calorie estimates are way out vs MFP. The AI took is a gimmick and comes up with inaccurate calories. I asked it to add ‘3 eggs scrambled with a knob of butter’ and it came back with over 300 calories which is not correct. Really don’t bother. Stick with MFP.
does not work at all, consistently underestimates calories by >50%. my refund was denied so now i have an app that doesn’t work at all and i have no use for. completely misled on advertisements as the app doesn’t function as intended (a calorie counter). buy macro factor and save yourself the trouble.
Thank you Scott - this app is amazing! It has motivated me so much to loose weight in a way that Myfitnesspal does not. I love the simplicity of having to track just your calories, protein and steps and that every weekly check in, the app tells you where you need to improve etc. it will then adjust your targets from there. I am losing weight nice and steady which means I am not going to pile it back on if I start to eat ‘badly’ again. Also the podcasts are a really nice motivational tool for when you are out walking and the WhatsApp group is a great friendly group with Scott always happy to answer questions and tech queries. I really hope the app gets the attention it deserves!
Like lots of people, I have been trying to lose weight for what feels like forever! I’ve just finished the 7 day trial of this and have paid for the year - I’ve paid for many, many apps over the years, but this one resonates with me. The daily (short) motivational podcasts are fantastic and I’ve found myself looking forward to hearing them. Scott speaks plainly and with more common sense than any fitness guru I’ve ever come across. The ease of adding foods and tracking steps is excellent, trying to accept that nearly there is better than perfect every day is really helping me to see the bigger picture. Rather than trying to crash diet, I’ve finally accepted that losing 1lb per week is much more realistic and means that I should be within my target weight in less than a year. Which really, in the grand scheme of 25 years of yo-yo dieting, is hardly anything at all! Thank you Scott for creating this! ❤️
