AI Calorie Counter: ParrotPal

Weight Loss, Track Food Macros

Published by: Scott Flear

Description

This is a weight loss specific app that makes it as easy as possible for you, so you can get your life back.
It figures out your calorie deficit and adjusts your protein, calories and step targets after your weekly reviews to keep your progress going.
We get rid of the noise, just focus on 3 targets every day and you'll see results. Those 3 are your calories, protein and steps. You don't even need to workout!
It's a weight loss coach and the best food logger on the market combined into one app.
The issue in the past is that tracking calories was slow, boring, and you couldn't do it for meals out and more complex stuff. Not any more.
Welcome to the revolution in calorie tracking.
Using AI powered technology, with ParrotPal it’s never been quicker to log your food and know your calorie deficit
No fuss, no countless taps. Just say, type or scan what you ate, and we handle the rest.
Imagine this: Dinner's over. You’ve had a starter, a steak, and maybe one too many drinks.
Old way? Search, scroll, tap, rinse, repeat. Give up halfway through logging from exhaustion - way too much effort!
With ParrotPal? You just tell us what you had, and we do all the hard work!
A quick text or a voice note is all we need. “I had a Caesar salad, a 8oz ribeye steak, and two pints of beer”. Boom! Tracked. Like magic!
It’s not about the tech we used to build it (even though it's cutting edge). It's about your journey to weight loss and keeping it simple, easy, and successful.
Why ParrotPal is the missing weight loss tool you need:

- Hassle-free tracking: Simply type or voice note. Just like updating a friend on what you ate that day. So easy!

- Huge barcode scanning network: Use the barcode scanner for that instant food capture.

- You can still track the traditional way like other apps by using the huge verified food database. But when you're eating out? Your partner makes you a meal and didn't weigh it all out? You're eating out over a weekend? Use the type or voice note AI input to do it for you in a second, so you can move on living your life! Tracking to 90% accuracy with 1 voice note on a weekend is better than the usual 0% because It's too hard and takes too much time!

- The Pareto Principle: We’re all about following the big 3 rules of fat loss. Calories, protein, and steps. 90% of your weight loss, simplified.

- Need recipe ideas?: Dive into 16,000+ mouthwatering recipes.

- Integrations: Sync ParrotPal with Apple Healthkit. Because every step counts.

- Weekly check-ins: Your metabolism changes, which means your targets need to too. We track changes in your metabolic rate, so we can make tweaks to your calories, protein and step targets for continued fat loss. These changes may happen weekly or less frequently, it depends on your data and results.

This isn’t another weight loss calorie counting app. This is the game changer the industry has been waiting for.
We've re-built the whole process of calorie tracking. We threw away the old playbook all other apps play by. The result?
An app so simple and effective you won't believe it.
ParrotPal gives you a healthy calorie deficit and takes things one day at a time with you. Unlike other trackers that put you on 1200 cals, ParrotPal will never put you into these extremes.
Focus on 3 metrics and let the results happen over time.
An app built with love by experts.

AI Calorie Counter Reviews

Poor set up and nil free trial

Firstly when I downloaded and set up app it advised me 7 day free trial then when I went through steps to set up it charged me. Poor help menus Poor support I paid for a picture on my phone And this is the type of app I would use everyday if it worked as described.

7 Day Trial gone bad

Found the app not great or user friendly. MyFitnessPal is way better as a free option. I deleted the app after 1 day. I didn’t realise I was in a 7 day free trial, therefore ended up being billed $60 for a subscription. Tried having it cancelled and overturned, but no. So crappy app took my money!

The answer I’ve been waiting for!

The voice tracking is amazing! I often don’t find time or forget to log what it eat. This just saves so much time! Thank you for making an app like this.

First time cal counter loving the experience

I’d love for the app to show all macros (ie. fats and carbs) when I log food. I think this could be introduced in a way that wouldn’t undermine the simplicity of the app. Maybe an option to turn on for specific use cases. Also, please introduce dark mode - both the app UI itself, along with the app icon/s. Otherwise, keep up the good work!

Best Tracking App out there.

This calorie and protein tracker is super easy and fun to use. You can type, speak and scan products easily. The best part for me has been learning about protein… bonus! I had no idea I was consuming so little. A real eye opener.

Buyer’s regret. Promising concept, but falls short in execution

Basic interactions, like adding or editing entries, aren’t intuitive, and the way past data is displayed isn’t particularly useful. The barcode scanner is especially disappointing—whatever API they use doesn’t seem up to par. I live in Australia and popular protein powders can’t be scanned. Compared to the free version of MyFitnessPal, it’s noticeably lacking. While features like voice noting and texting are great ideas, they’re undermined by the frustration of having to manually add items for about 60% of scanned products. I really appreciate the innovative approach ParrotPal takes, especially in tackling calorie counting while addressing the fear of stepping on the scale through reminders and content. The app shows genuine promise. However, it’s not user-friendly enough to recommend. Ultimately, while the direction and perspective are commendable, the product underdelivers, making it hard to justify paying for it in its current state.

For a busy person that just wants a bit help in tracking your health & weight loss journey it’s the simplest & easiest way of tracking everything. After doing many fad diets this app has broken it down into the most simplest form I don’t feel confused and overwhelmed by any of it. The support outwith the app is a great help too💛

5 weeks in - loving it!

So easy and straightforward! Love the motivating podcasts and have learned so much too. Scott delivers info in an easy-to-digest way that minimises overwhelm and therefore empowers you with knowledge. The goal is slow and steady progress and lifestyle changes. Not a method of dropping weight fast. I’ve lost weight yes, but the biggest difference has been my mental health. Highly recommend.
