Smart idea, but many bugs (and each version fixes some, but adds new ones)
A much needed new approach to training software. The traditional tactics trainers are fine, but are kind of crude. Aimchess really goes the extra mile. Visualization training, openings, mistake flagging, blunder preventer all integrated. The app syncs to your online chess account, and finds positions where you failed to convert an advantage. You then play the position against the engine, with the objective of capitalizing on a winning position. The 360 trainer is particularly exceptional. Tactical puzzles have the weakness that you know a tactical sequence exists, but such a prompt is not replicated in games. Defensive tactics are also present, and past positions are integrated. Price is reasonable, particularly compared to competitors.
This is a great tool to improve your chess however when clicking the button to get premium the app ALWAYS crashes. Otherwise, I love this app and I love the site in a browser as well.
I tried signing up for premium via the app but it crashed every time. Even reinstalled it, same issue.
App crashes every time I try to purchase subscription.
It’s very frustrating. I have changed my user id on chess.com about a year ago and Aimchess still used my old Chess.com username so all of my new games are unnoticed. There ought to be a way to change or update one’s accounts but I have searched everywhere and there are none. Otherwise it is a great program. Wally K.
1. Upon opening the app there is a list of lists with no particular order of difficulty, frequency, priority, expected duration. Basically like walking into a library, while expecting to walk into a classroom. Needs direction for user to know what to start with, and where to from there. Take for example, Duolingo. 2. When using opening trainer and a mistake is detected, show better alternatives and allow going back one move, instead of having to restart the entire line.
Why am I being charged $7.99?
You need a premium for any of the features
By far the best chess training app I’ve come across. Well worth the money. Let’s you practice things that you screwed up in recent games. Great, diversified mix of training exercises to do every day.
