Description

The Air Force PT Test App is for the USAF service member who needs a quick and easy solution to calculate fitness test scores.
The Air Force Fitness Program is designed to assess service member's fitness in four areas: aerobic (running), body-composition, push ups, and crunches (sit ups). Scores in each area are based on age, gender, body measurements, number of repetitions or elapsed time.
AIR FORCE AEROBIC TEST
The Aerobic Fitness test is a one and a-half mile timed run. For a 17 to 25 year old male the score ranges from zero for 21:30 elapsed time to 50 points for running it in less than 9:36.
AIR FORCE BODY COMPOSITION TEST
The Body Composition (tape test) score is determined by measuring the abdominal circumference, and comparing the measurement to a body composition point chart. A 17 to 25 year old male with a 36-inch waist would get a score of 22.20 for this area.
Note: To measure abdominal circumference, place a measuring tape in a horizontal plane around the abdomen at the level of upper hipbone. Before reading the tape measure, ensure that the tape is snug, but does not compress the skin, and that the tape is parallel to the floor.
AIR FORCE PUSH UP TEST
Push ups are done in a one-minute time period. For a 17 to 25 year male the scores range from zero for less than 8 push ups to 10 points for 62 or more.
AIR FORCE CRUNCHES (SIT UPS) TEST
The crunches test score is based on the number of repetitions counted during one minute. For a 17 to 25 year old male the score ranges from zero for less than 27 crunches to 10 points for 55 or more.
The Air Force PT Test App has full support for alternative cardio events, elevation, and exceptions. Not doing the run? Quickly see what you have to do to pass the alternate cardio events. Full support for logging your PT/BCA scores to visualize your progress with graphs.
Please note: Although we make every possible effort to match the official USAF standards, this app is not official. Always consult an updated AFI when in doubt.

Inaccurate

Jbr98 on

For example...the waste measurement scale goes up by inches rather than half inches. This app looks nice and has potential, but is garbage as-is. Use the official USAF app...it seems to have the best, most accurate PT Test Calculator out there. I forgot it was embedded within the app until I stupidly downloaded about 3-4 other garbage apps on my phone, then I thought to check the USAF app itself to see if there was something there—there is...and it works perfectly. :-)

About as useful as a piece of paper

The free version does nothing that you can’t do by looking at the standards sheet on the internet and calculating your score manually. The paid version (which I did not buy) graphs your progress which is cool, but also something a pencil does. If you really like using apps to circumvent doing math then I guess this is for you. The UI is pretty good though.

Annoying user interface

AvidListener2345 on

This has a really annoying interface. When scrolling up and down to look at the score (which is all the way on the bottom), your finger keeps hitting the waist measurement area, so you're constantly having to change it back. I'm also not too fond of having to type things in. The look and feel of this app needs some work.
