Alliant Mobile Banking Reviews

No true joint account

Angry_matt on

United States

Opened a joint account for the wife and I, only to find out after opening my wife can’t log in without me being present. Can’t turn 2-factor authentication off and just share the password. Called and was told by the reps that the only way for her to have access online is for her to be a member, which means opening another checking and savings account. We’re trying to simplify finances, not complicate, and I wish we knew this before opening. I would not suggest this for couples looking to combine finances.

Not compatible with current IOS

It might be a fine app. It says it won’t work with my device (iPhone 12 pro) and the current OS 17.4.1. Wish I knew before creating an account.

Giving perspective: what to expect from real banks

pizza_dough on

United States

If you’ve opened a new account, don’t expect to be able to use it for anything at all for about a month. After that month, don’t expect to be able to use it for anything serious. There will be full-week holds on your deposits that exceed a rather low threshold. In my opinion you’re best off with a major online free checking account at a bank like Schwab, with an Alliant or some local CU account on the side for the sole purpose of cash deposits at network ATMs (because you cannot make cash deposits at Schwab). Otherwise, I could not recommend this as a banking solution for any particular reason. From their support: “”” It typically takes 1-2 business days for external transfers to post to your account. New members are subject to a seven business day hold on all deposited items for the first 30 days of membership. ACH deposits to new accounts will have a three business day hold, as well. After the first 30 days, in most instances, when depositing personal and business checks on an account in good standing (and where the items being deposited are believed to be payable), we make the first $225 immediately available. Up to $5525 will generally be available for withdrawal no later than the second business day after the day of your deposit, with the remainder available after the seventh business day. Business days are Monday through Friday, with the exception of Federal holidays. Despite the hold, you will receive the associated dividend from the original date of deposit. “””

With this latest update, when I open my app it says that the app cannot be used on iPhone.

App Wont open

Be kind online on

Sadly, I’ve had to shift to website access only. My iphone 14 pro max wont open the app. It simply stopped one day and now when I download it and attempt to login it says app cannot be opened on this device. Im unsure what is causing this and its very frustrating since we rely on apps these days! Im considering searching for another banking institution without app issues.

Good but

BDL2864 on

United States

This is a good app. What keeps me from making it my main checking account is the inability to lock my debit. This is a standard feature with most banks and even the smallest credit unions.

Dumb updates

Antp50 on

I’ve never had an app that had so many useless updates!!! Seriously every week you can’t log on because of some update

Too many required updates

Every single time I open this app I have to update it before I can log in.
