Description

Aloft is the #1 FAA-Approved provider for B4UFLY and LAANC services.
Airspace safety and situational awareness is no longer just about "before" you fly but across the entirety of your operation. Air Aware provides this complete system for safe flight.
From the makers of the original B4UFLY, Aloft is launching Air Aware for next-generation situational awareness. In partnership with Pilot Institute (https://pilotinstitute.com), Air Aware is the platform for all drone pilots to get started safely and compliantly to fly drones.
In addition to authoritative airspace information from Aloft (an FAA-approved UAS Service Supplier for LAANC), Air Aware includes Aloft's exclusive Geo layers with over 10 million square miles of local, state, and federal advisory information to assist pilots with takeoff/landing restrictions and other pertinent safety information. Air Aware includes all FAA-required B4UFLY data layers, and also features the new FRIA data set (FAA Recognized Identification Areas) where Remote ID is not required.
We've also incorporated Aloft's Notify & Fly system, originally introduced in the FAA's B4UFLY app, into Air Aware -- giving pilots the ability to read and share live flight volumes for complete real-time situational awareness and deconfliction.
As we've partnered with Pilot Institute, inside Air Aware you will also find links to free resources, such as training videos, FAA TRUST information, and free stickers for labeling your drone.
If you need Aloft's LAANC services, you'll find links in Air Aware when you're in controlled airspace, or you can use our Air Control web and mobile apps.
Please get in touch with our team directly at [email protected] if you have any questions, feedback, or ideas. Together with Pilot Institute, we're looking for your feedback as we evolve this new platform.

Aloft Air Aware Reviews

Awesome Drone App

Lowflyermike on

United States

I have used many different drone apps. Finally I’ve found one that is not only super easy to use, it is extremely accurate. And it’s actually made by one of the most trustworthy people out there, pilot institute.

Why are there like 4 apps?

Mario5422 on

United States

I don’t know what this company is doing but they keep releasing apps then dropping support for them and releasing a new one, yet leaving the old ones up on the app store. I have a couple of other apps to check airspace and they show an area near an Air Force Base as restricted airspace (obviously) while this app shows it as yellow (fly with caution). All these apps should be pulling the same FAA data so not sure why this one is inaccurate?

Doesn’t show other LAANC

Aussieluv123 on

This has been my go to app for LAANC. I really like that I can do a “notify and fly” notification when I don’t need LAANC. I think that is a great idea to further enhance NAS safety. However, I am trying out a new app, AutoPylot as my backup in case this one doesn’t work for some reason. I posted a LAANC flight through that app but it does not show up in this app. I think any and all LAANC requests should show up in all LAANC apps to enhance pilot situational awareness and NAS safety of flight. If 5 other pilots are flying around me and all five are using a diferent app than me, none of us will know there are multiple other drones in the area causing a dangerous collision risk. This issue should be addressed by all LAANC apps immediately!

Poor usability

favoriteflyer on

United States

After typing in an address; the keyboard remains on screen obscuring map. There are much better apps available.

Very inconsistant

The app does not always work even from a location that worked previously Can usually only check my immediate area. Not useful if I am going to travel and check conditions where I am going

Must Have App

Works great and is very reliable!

Not Ready for Use

JD in Jax on

United States

This app isn’t ready. Buttons disappear at the bottom of screen (iPhone 13 Pro), layers are not selectable, and no altitude grids inside controlled space.

Reliable information

Firepres28 on

Contacted customer support about LAANC. This was on a Sunday afternoon and they got back to me within 15 minutes. Jon provided me with very good information to my question.

Almost perfect

Increase notification time: 60 minutes is not enough time for my flight times. Allow the radius to be adjusted of where the has operation is taking place the current radius is too small.

Won’t go up w/o it

Travexer on

United States

Realizing a large percentage of drone enthusiasts (recreational) largely don’t include a documented preflight regimen, and that’s fine for them, I personally don’t feel comfortable not advising my flight locale with my presence for both courtesy and safety purposes. I really appreciate this service for its accountability.
