Absolutely ridiculous prices for a single chapter.
I can’t even get a single ticket from watching an ad that lasts over two minutes! This is absolutely ridiculous. Honestly didn’t realize an app could get worse than happy or tapas but these greedy people somehow managed it.
Tickets
To unlock episodes you need tickets, 10 tickets per episode, and you need to watch like 3 30 second videos to earn 1 single ticket, or you can take surveys or complete tasks to get free tickets which is a waste of time since it doesn’t even work, tried 10 different things, took hella surveys and haven’t earned a single ticket, they just want your money don’t bother with this.
Bad Business Model
As others have stated it’s a buy to rent model with the 40$ middle ground netting you 56 chapters for 7 days each and the free tickets being insultingly useless.
App is incredibly barebones with no reader customization of any kind. But it does do the bare minimums of working atleast.
Flat rate
I love the manga they provide in this app, love how it’s set up. Sadly I wished they had a flat rate set up to read unlimited for a certain price. I wouldn’t mind paying $5 per month if I can ready unlimited. But $1 per chapter? That’s a bit much. And the wait and read is hard because I would have to wait three days just to read one chapter of many of my favorite manga. Wouldn’t know which one to read.
Fix it if you can
Love the manga love the app, however the production rate of which chapters come out is to spaced out and that lowers viewership of the mangas on the app. If you can do something about that issue without overwhelming the creators then there would be a major influx of viewers to the app and the mangas on it.
Not worth it tbh
My main problem with this app is the fact that you have to buy tickets to read the manga, spend said ticket, but only have the chapter/episode you bought be available for 7 days. If Im spending my money through tickets on chapters, I shouldnt have a time limit as to when I can read them since I technically purchased them.
Manga RENTAL
I’m so glad I looked up an article about this app before I spent money on it. At no point do they explain how this app works. They want you to dump money on it and then you get an unpleasant surprise.
So this has some great series on it. BUT say there are 20 chapters of a series you want to read. The first and last 3 are free to read (great!) that leaves 14 chapters you need to 10 tickets to unlock. You get one ticket a day to just log in that’s a 140 day waiting game. Or about $12 if you are paying. Or watching 1400 commercials if you are not paying. That’s right you get pp not tickets for every commercial you unlock. I watched 2 realized I wasn’t getting “tickets” and went trawling for fine print.
Here is the kicker. The unlocking is for a week! That’s right you are not buying anything here. You are renting them for ONLY A WEEK. this is the worst business model I’ve every seen. It’s a blatant money grab that only works because this company owns the original license. My suggestion is: read what’s free and forget the rest. I would have dropped $100+ dollars on buying these (or even a membership!) but the return on spending is a big fat zero.
Has a good foundation for something great
It is a dream for many to finally have a platform/app for manga like there is for webtoons, but this is coming pretty close to it. It is easy to navigate, but the pricing structure could use some help, mostly due to it be almost half price as a standard manga per chapter, but you can only rent the chapters where with webtoons at least you own them. I hope it can continue to grow and become something every wants, an easy way to access manga and support the artist who create them.
Needs improvement
Tickets are hard to get (unless you buy them) and chs only last for 7 days (then u have to pay again to red that chapter), you cant change the reading option to a long page, and the tapjoy offers are really horrible, considering you need 10 points for 1 ticket and 10 tickets for 1 chapter.
terrible
this app is a joke, a crunchyroll membership is a better alternative for this scam. actually very scummy tactic reminds me of those never ending surveys
