If you're a musician who likes to learn new songs and techniques by listening to the same piece of music over and over but wish that the music could be played a little slower, then you'll enjoy Amazing Slow Downer.
You can repeat any section of the music at full speed, slow it down or even speed it up by changing the speed between 25% (1/4 of original speed) and 200% (double speed) without changing the pitch!
Change the tuning or musical key? No problem, Amazing Slow Downer handles that as well.
Setup seamless loops by touching the "Set" buttons during playback.
Amazing Slow Downer is the ideal tool for any musician, transcriber or dancer wanting to improve their skills.
New - Support for streaming "Apple Music" audio!
Note: Some functions such as "Pitch change" and "Equalizer" are not available when playing "Apple Music" songs.
Please note: According to Spotify, third party apps will not any longer have access to streaming Spotify content in a way that works for slowing down / pitch change audio starting September 1, 2022. This will affect Amazing Slow Downer.
This means that you should NOT buy Amazing Slow Downer if playing Spotify content is your only use of the app.
This change does NOT affect any other type of audio content that Amazing Slow Downer can play back.
This free "Lite" version is restricted to play the first quarter of an audio file.

I’ve used ASD for over five years as a professional drum teacher. There are pros and cons and I hope the developer reads this.
The good: easy to use and load, very stable for me on iPad/ iPhone and the algorithm has shockingly high quality playback with minimal artifacts. I appreciate being able to create and save loops (more on that later). Big buttons are nice on the fly. Integration with iTunes library makes life easy to organize.
I appreciate that the cost is upfront and not a subscription service. Although I’d be happy to pay for additional features (see cons below).
It does what it says- slows songs down, and changes pitch, and does it very well.
The cons/ requests:
Obviously having to both buy the MP3’s and subscribe to Apple Music is expensive but I don’t blame the developer for that, it’s part of my cost of doing business.
As of right now in ASD you have to + or - your loop ends by a preset amount and use your ear to get it right. it’s pretty time consuming and old school. It would be nice to have the loop feature be able to drop on beat (the quarter note or eighth note, etc). This would require a background beat grid analysis of the file. I strongly encourage the developer to check out DJ apps and use their ideas of how to quickly make and store seamless loops. This is not new technology.
It would be more than nice to have a row of buttons across the control panel to call up loops without having to go down into the dialogue box which is kinda awkward and time consuming. You could set your loop points, hold down one of the buttons and it automatically saves, and in the future recalls that loop with a touch. Again check out other DJ programs.
Another needed feature, which has been well documented in these reviews, is (+) and (-) buttons on the speed and pitch sliders to incrementally adjust. My fat fingers are always sliding above and bellow my needed speed until I get it just right. Please add these.
Simple ergonomics request- Having a bit larger buttons on the speed and volume sliders would be nice. Often my fingers over-shoot when working on the fly.
Fantasy wish- If you check out the DJ software Serato, they have implemented a “stems” feature where you can isolate drums, vocals, etc. This would be a major league feature for AMS. Imagine being able to quickly isolate the drum tracks, create a quick loop on beat, then save it w/ a single tap. This is probably way more than AMS could afford to implement but it would blow minds. Question:
This is the Light version. Is there a full fledged version?
Useless in 2023
Does NOT work with Spotify OR Apple Music. Useless in 2023. my understanding is the full version is also not compatible with either one. this was a great app in the past when it actually worked with what we all use. I can’t imagine very many people still use this app anymore though since they decided to become irrelevant.
Useless now!!
I used to love this app!! I loved it so much I paid $16 for the full version….but I haven’t used the app in a couple years because I got out of playing music for a while. I come back to the app and you can no longer play music from Spotify!! I feel like I should get my $16 back!!
A New IPad
I recently updated my IPad and Rolf, the customer service person, helped me set it up. He was very helpful. He explained how to renew the app on the new equipment and how to move my library.
I’ve used this app for years and am totally satisfied with both the app but impressed with the attention given through customer service.

Sold out to Apple Music
You won’t be able to use your iTunes files with this software unless you hand out $9.99 to Apple Music every month ~ ASD sold out to Apple- Good luck struggling musicians!
Too bad
Unfortunately without the Spotify component this app is completely useless to me now. Also unfortunately I bought the full version. Yay for that. I also purchased the PC version so I guess I can use it there but no longer have the convenience of using ASD wherever I am.
No Spotify
Was a great app and no longer can access Spotify content. Loved this app before Spotify killed support. Too bad. This was a great app. Going to look elsewhere.
Great app, frustrating UI
Love the app and use it every day.
But the slider controls for setting the loop start and end points, speed, and pitch are a really, really bad choice.
It’s really difficult to set the values with a slider. A text input would be so much better.
bad
I can’t do anything i use Spotify I log in into my Spotify account i make a playlist of the I want to use and nothing shows up.Also in not spending 14.99 cash for the other one.
