Does not support pasting passwords
Absurd and makes it extremely difficult to log in if you use a password manager. It’s 2025, come on.

I’ve had the Amcrest Smart Home Hub WiFi system for about 3 plus years now and I don’t have major complaints, the support team are great and quick! I hope they continue to provide the same cameras . Love the cloud service because it is inexpensive! Recommended
I am trying to log in ti the app but i dont receive a verification code. I have been trying for two days
I purchased an crest indoor camera for use for one of my family members. To use it, I have to use this app to sign in. To sign in, I need to create an account. I have submitted no less than a dozen different attempts at the same email address, only to find an empty inbox and an empty spam folder. until I can get this app to work, the camera is effectively a doorstop. I am severely disappointed in Ambercrest and their ability to do something as simple as provide a product that works. The use of this app to force me into signing up, shows that they haven’t thought this through very well, and that they’ve fallen pray like many companies to the idea that using an app and just sending things to the cloud is the answer to everything. If the camera was available locally on my network, then that would be one thing, but I can’t even do that supposedly according to their documentation.
Picked up the camera from a sale and trying to register for an account on the app. Waited for an hour and still no verification code was sent to my email. Tried multiple times too. No sure how my experience was gonna be if it did work… so 2 stars
They force you to use their app and cloud service. Avoid at all costs Wyze is better for the price.
For months now i cannot get the videos to playback.
[2025-03-11] App frequently logs user out right at the moment that someone is at the door ringing the doorbell. This is almost useless for security and worse than useless for user experience. Stop doing this. One star removed. [Original Review 2020-06-12] I purchased an Amcrest WiFi video doorbell for testing to see if I should put it on my recommendation list. The wide angle video is clear even at night, the motion sensing works well, the notifications are quick, and the two way talk/listen works well. I really like being able to download clips from SD card to iPhone. Please allow when not on same local network too. The doorbell can be added to an Amcrest NVR/DVR for those with multiple cameras, and that’s another way to view security video. This app continues to improve, recently adding the ability to download important video clips from the SD card in the doorbell to my iPhone for my records. I use and recommend this device and app. As of 12 June 2020, here is my remaining wish list, respectfully submitted. 1. Users are required to sign up for an Amcrest account in order to use the app and access the doorbell. Use of an intermediary should be strictly optional and there should be a way to connect to the doorbell directly without going through an external server or service. One star removed. 2. The built-in web-based access to the device just doesn’t work. Maybe some documentation would help. One star deducted.
Always signed out and it’s not recording anything! Just takes pictures of people.. please fix!
This app constantly signs off, leaving you remembering and typing your credentials when need to use it in rush. This behavior blocks you from responding and checking your doorbell in time, making it useless when you need it most.
