AmpKit FAQ
Is AmpKit free?
AmpKit is not free (it costs 19.99), however it doesn't contain in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is AmpKit legit?
✅ The AmpKit app appears to be high-quality and legitimate. Users are very satisfied.
I had purchased every pack (the big everything bundle) ages ago (like maybe five iPhones back) and was supposed to get every new piece of kit included. I couldn’t find any ‘restore previous purchases’ button so clicked on the bundle to install it as AppStore gives message saying ‘you have previously paid for this and will be downloaded for free’ normally and then downloads your items, but it didn’t. It just changed another £40 nearly four what I had already had in the past. Why is there no restore feature in the settings? Makes no sense. Not happy
Great Clean Amp Sound
Too many virtual amps sell themselves on their overdriven and distorted tones, but are let down by weak and raspy clean tones. However, this baby really delivers some beautiful, full-bodied clean amp tones as well as the other overdriven stuff. In particular, I could play my Gibson through the emulation of the Peavey Valve King on its clean setting all day. It is the next best thing to plugging it into a nice clean real Fender valve amp.
There are some other interesting items, like the Fender Acoustasonic. It would be nice if there were more reverb and tape echo emulations (Roland Space Echo) with more controls on them. Perhaps an emulation of an Orange and Ampeg guitar amp would be nice.
Future amps and fx?
Great app. Just wondering about the new bundles offers. Are we going to see lots of new amps and effects soon? I already have every iap so I'm not sure how it's going to benefit me without you guys making some announcements of whats up and coming re amps and effects. Please announce something so we know what's going on, thanks.
Great but
I have had hours of fun playing with this app making some great tones but I think they should make a custom drum beat maker, a studio so you can add things like bass, vocals, drums etc and a tuner and they should make it all an reasonable price because amplitudes prices are unbelievable
Best guitar app
My last review didnt post so lets try again.
If you play clean, ie proper guitar, then this is really the only app that sounds vaguely like an actual guitar. The others all sound like someone playing through a tin can at the bottom of a lift shaft.
Seriously i have most of the decent apps and this one is the best. It lacks all the fancy features but who cares, it sounds right and thats all that matters.
Short changed?
Bought Peavey Ampkit last week then Ampkit+ when I saw the AppStore details. The screen shot of Ampkit+ showed an impressive collection of additional pedals - including Accoustic8, Phase 72, Tremo-LOL and many others. Buyer beware! Only 5 of the pedals actually pictured in the advert are included! Sharp-practice?
Fantabulous
When I plug in my SDG 5 string Bass in I get lost....Great Ap.
Thanks Guys!
Amazing!
The effects and amps all sound amazing. Using the ampkit link there is very little feedback and the noise gate works really well.
More distortion pedals please
This app is amazing! Excellent for recording in a variety of styles and the tones are authentic and awesome.
Pedal modelled on the extremely rare boss FZ2 Hyper fuzz would be awesome as these go for silly money now.
But thank you so much for this! You have made my iPad an excellent recording tool as supposed to just a fun gadget and my recording out put is now sounding better than ever!
Buy this app! You won't regret it!
Excellent.
The app is excellent. I use it for bass guitar and it suits me just fine, going straight into a guitar amp.
One small addition would be to have the app work over iCloud so the presets on one device are instantly on the other, and they would be downloadable again if a device has to be restored. Apart from that, it's brilliant.
