Versatile

Camera; many filters and adjustments, even a polygon effect! Versatile app. Saves full-size.

Poor redesign

Prior to being flattened out and 'simplified' for iOS7, this was a nice app with authentic effects and easy to use sliders. Of course, it used lots of iOS6 controls, so the developers updated it to the trendier 'flat' look. Sadly, user experience has suffered. In what was presumably a quest to make it feel similar to VSCO Cam, a competitor app, it has become fiddly and cumbersome to use, the effects are less impressive and areas of the app now look very ugly. I'd suggest the developers go back to the previous version and make that look more iOS 7, without changing the app's architecture which was much better than it is now. As a result of these changes, I'm using the app far less, which is a shame.

Fantastic filters

Love this photo app. Would have given it five stars but the camera preview is broken on the 5S. Once that's fixed it'll be awesome.

Great fx processing with convincing results.

Great but could be perfect so easily

This is a great app. I use it to finish off almost all of my photos nowadays. The light leak effect 4 achieves a brilliant analog look that I adore. However, this app could easily be SO much better. For instance, a full reds preview to work from would make getting a photo just perfect that much easier. At the moment the lossy preview means I usually have to do two or three exports before I'm fully satisfied with the results. Also, it completely strips the exif data from any photos you put through it, which is a MAJOR flaw. I want my photos to look good but I want them to maintain their data too. It would also be nice to have a few more presets and light leaks. A few pie in the sky ideas would be the ability to save your own presets, controls for each light leak effect, and maybe a few more frame options. Still, it's a good program that's worth the price, I just wish the developers would take the time to make it work the way it should.

A real disappointment

I have the pc version of analogcolor, so I thought I'd try the app. My first issue is the cost £1.49, it's most definitely not worth this currently. I know it's not a lot, but there are much better *free* photog apps out there. The good points: I love the light leaks and I love the noise/grain. The bad points for me are: the lack of frames. I love a good choice of frames around my pics and it would have been nice to see more frame choices from the main version, in the app. For example, I really wanted the frame TTV2 as well as textured film grain and expired film options too. In the x-pro section of the app more features from the main prgramme could be added. Also, I think more choice of set options would be good....and the toy camera set option should have the TTV2 frame. I'm sure I'm not alone in using my phone as my main camera, and I do demand quite a lot from the camera apps I use. For me, there is no point having a great main programme installed on my pc that I use occasionally, I would much rather the app was top-notch because that's what I use more often. I really love the pc version so I was disappointed with how few of the features are on the app. I know that you can't cram it all in to an app, but equally there are too few options for the price. Also, the ability to link the app to social media would be fantastic, yet it lack this basic option. I really don't find it particularly user friendly in its current format. I feel it's been a waste of money so far, so I'll be using other camera apps until Pentacom makes the necessary improvements.

(almost) perfect!

I've used the Mac version of AnalogColor for years, but it's been getting used less and less now that the majority of my photo processing is done on my iPad... and this is the reason I wrote 'almost' in the title... I'm now eager to get my hands on a native iPad AnalogColor! Excellent work Pentacom, now gimme my iPad app!!

Beautiful analog replica

This is a brilliant little app, there are lots of 'one click' effects but all give you the option to adjust them to get a real original look to your picture. The 'faux film grain' is nice and subtle and looks pretty realistic. Overall, one of the few apps you can get a real nice old film style look with. Only thing I would like to see in next version is more light leaks and a bit more adjustment options for them!
