End-to-end anchoring workflow
It’s amazing to be able to find anchorages, check local weather, set my anchor, and monitor it remotely all from the same app. Can’t believe this app is brand new and can’t wait for more upcoming features!

Let me start by saying I generally love predictwind and the datahub and the other subscription services. But this anchor app is so bugger it is untrustworthy and downright dangerous. The app will often hang after some period of time and become non responsive. Other times I've tried to task switch back to the app only to find it's "off" and not monitoring anything like the app is just starting up. I was so hoping I could use this to monitor any anchor drag and swing so that we could then feel good about going ashore and be able to keep an eye on our anchor situation. But sadly I have zero faith in this app to run for any period of time. Seems so not predictwind quality.
I am paying 15 bucks a month and feel it’s too way too buggy for the cost. Not sure how they are justifying the cost. I really want to stay with the app as I have dayahub and can’t justify the risk of dragging and not being alerted. Several issues: 1) the app will freeze after multiple hours of running. It should wanmrn you if it isn’t still monitoring drag. 2) the n2k data freezes after some time running app, won’t refresh until you kill the app, reconnect to data hub and restart anchor alert 3) it’s not clear how to be alerted if you drag while ashore. The best I can tell is I need to connect a device to data hub and then take another device ashore.
I am curious to try this, since it seems like a good anchor alarm and I do use and like PredictWind. However, on my iPad it freezes on the splash screen. I tried it on my iPhone and it seems to launch and seems intuitive.
I have been using PrdeictWind software for sailing for a number of years and it’s been extremely helpful in deciding our safe sailing days. We purchased the upgrade to the software to help us even better when making our sailing decisions. How pleasantly surprised I was to see that PredictWind just added an anchor warning application that also syncs with the wind information in one app. Having trusted the information from PredictWind, I am surly confident that their anchor application will be just as powerful and reliable. Our sailboat was just placed in the water 2 days ago (as we only have about a 6 month season) and we’re waiting for our boat to be placed on our mourning. We won’t be staying overnight for a while since it is still cold here, but we will test it out with an an anchoring as soon as the temperature gets a bit warmer:+) Thanks for this well needed, new application and keep up the good work!
