They charge for leads that you never get an opportunity to talk to. I get leads and in less than a minute I’ll call them and I never get answers. I send messages immediately and they never get returned. Then I get charged for them. I figured I’d try them out. I’ve gotten a number of leads and I’ve only made contact with two people. One wanted a price to replace and decided to do it himself. The other had a drain clog on a 2 year old system. These people are breaking small businesses. Don’t give them any money.
Scam
Angi used to get me tons of recurring clients, but as of 2024 I’ve received almost 100% scam leads. Literally no one answers, they fish for information such as your address with fake check scams, and the one real lead I did receive hung up on me. When I called to request credit, they called the lead at which time the lady said she no longer wanted the service at this time. They told me I was not eligible for a refund because I had received her information and she might change her mind one day so I should continue to reach out…. That’s obnoxious. I run a business. I’m not into harassing people who are not interested in service and have continually ignored my attempts to contact them. Also if you’re charged for a lead, you must call within 15 mins, 3 times the first day/2 times the second day/1 time the third day with additional texts and emails before Angi deems that you gave effort towards contacting customers. That’s insane. The amount of scammers on the app is astronomical. Literally constantly am charged for fake leads here’s some hints: they ask what area you service (shouldn’t they know a general area based on the info they provided Angi if they’re interested in your services?), never answer the phone and their voicemail says they’re a Google subscriber rather than a legit voicemail, they message through the app wanting you to send them an email (they can sell your name, email, phone number and address on the dark web as a bundle.) Just don’t do it. Also, I forgot to mention when people are legit on Angi, they’re also usually super cheap in budget. I’m talking $100 for a whole house is pushing it for most of them. Just a waste of money. And angi charges a yearly membership fee. Fee for what to get robbed?
1 month of Angie
I gave Angie a try for a month just to see if the bad reviews were lies. Come to find out every lead u get whether you call or don’t you still end up losing and making no profit for your business they treat their customers badly they only care if they make money. You pay a crazy amount of a yearly membership just to end up spending more in leads by the end of the month like I said they are just looking to get the most money out of their customers when all they do is give leads and want a huge percentage which you have no idea if they will answer or are even interested in what ever your providing for people I honestly wouldn’t recommend this app for no one unless you’re trying to dig yourself in a deep debt loop.
Review of Angie’s
I have found Angie’s Pro Leads sending me opportunities leads at 9:20 pm and again at 11:22 pm….why they do that is beyond my understanding…I also get a lot of people that do not return my calls or are just shopping prices and get charged for…To me there needs to be a give and take…It’s a win win for Angie’s…This last job had the wrong phone number and the gentleman that answered wasn’t to happy only because he got hammered with phone calls…So I took it upon myself to drive out to the homeowners house and sell the job…Angie’s was notified of the error and you would think they would have gotten back to us..but that didn’t happen and like I said above I went out of my way to sell a job and make Angie’s look good…

If you Have Other Options, use them.
AngiLeads/Homeadvidor is a necessary evil for some. Overall lead quality is horrendous, and we can typically close leads at 65%-80%. Most don’t call you back or say it was an accident.
When you tell them legitimate reasons as to why you shouldn’t pay for it, they will give a couple of credits, but screw you most of the time.
We have been working for some time to replace AngiLeads and we are really close. We’re helping a lot of our friends do the same. Worst lead generation out there, and we’ve used a lot of them.
App freezes
At times won’t allow mobile logins…
Adds
The ads are not specific enough for the consumer to pick the correct task they need done.
Expensive Leads…
Expensive, low quality leads.
Needs upgraded.
App is very gltichy.
Disappointed
This could be a great service for both property owner and contractor. Unfortunately the level of spam and what I call fake leads and the company’s willingness to refund the cost of is ridiculous. If I spend $200 on a lead and the party tells me they never asked for a quote, why should I pay for that. Called voicing my concerns and got the people to write to me they never asked for a quote, and a supervisor informed me that I pay for advertising not leads. So how on earth is this Angi Leads? That’s not what I was sold when I signed up. I know every lead will not lead to a sale and we pay for them to get to the wins, but I feel slighted and ripped off to have to pay for leads that can’t go anywhere. I can close about 3-4 out of ten estimates I do- at the least, so it’s not poor salesmanship. This practice should be addressed and this would be a great service that I would pay for. To charge up to four contractors for a lead to a person who states they never wanted or requested a quote, is proposterous and should be a crime. Wishing for better. I am a reputable contractor that leave the client fully satisfied, which in turn is satisfied with Angie. So why not be willing to accommodate instead of ostracize?
