Description
The Ani Mobile App aims to introduce the Archaeological Site of Ani, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2016, to a larger audience and to share scientific information about the site more accessible using modern communication technologies.
The app presents information about 45 structures in the city of Ani and its surrounding in three languages while categorizing the info such as history, architecture, art history, and architectural preservation. Four main routes based on the locations of different structures allow the users to visit and experience the Ani Archaeological Site on specific themes. The users can also create their itineraries by selecting different structures!
The users can visit Ani and its surroundings by listening to its multilayered history voiced by Mahir Günşiray, Şenay Gürler, Tilbe Saran, and Görkem Yeltan in Turkish, Dr. Elmon Hançer in Armenian, and Dr. Christina Maranci, Veronica Kalas and Robert Dulgarian in English.
Besides the glossary containing the meanings of technical terms, the guiding bibliography for more comprehensive research is available in the application for anyone interested. A quiz for users who want to measure their knowledge about Ani is also among the content.
