Antarctic Heritage Trust VR

Published by: Staples Productions

Description

Using 360 video and google cardboard we invite you to explore the first building at what is now New Zealand’s Scott Base. Following the conservation of the building by Antarctic Heritage Trust this virtual reality experience celebrates New Zealand’s first presence in Antarctica as part of the Trans-Antarctic Expedition and International Geophysical Year.
Developed by Antarctic Heritage Trust and Auckland University of Technology this unique experience shares what life on the ice was like for Sir Edmund Hillary and his team of 23 men as they furthered science and exploration in the world’s most extreme environment.
The Trust gratefully acknowledges principal sponsor Ryman Healthcare, as well as Antarctica NZ (logistics) and Staples VR (technical).
