Anybuffer is the answer to creating a universal import and export object clipboard that actually works with nearly any app with any sharing extension. It preserves the original object data and metadata, though you can get slightly different results depending on how certain apps may share differently using different extensions. (For example, whether a file thumbnail gets created in Anybuffer seems to depend on how it imports that file.) Hopefully the developers will fix that it crashes so much, but it is still a must have app for IOS if you share data between different apps it need to save PDFs for printing later.
If you are a windows user looking for a clipboard app, this is it. All the other apps on here calling themselves copy or paste or clipboard are not all all what you are looking for. This is essentially Windows Clipboard but better.
Would it be possible to add a shortcut that allows one to rename an item?
All of my content was deleted for no reason. Waste of time. Complete garbage app. Unbelievable to just delete all of your content for no reason and with no warning. Don’t waste your time unless you want to lose everything.
Anybuffer is the answer to creating a universal import and export object clipboard that actually works with nearly any app with any sharing extension. It preserves the original object data and metadata in its original form, though you can get slightly different results depending on how certain apps may share differently using different extensions. (For example, whether a file thumbnail gets created in Anybuffer seems to depend on how it imports that file.) Before I found Anybuffer I found using IOS for anything complicated and/or involved a bit of trial and error to get things to work is how limiting the sharing extensions can be to inter-application functionality. This was especially frustrating when the data you're trying to pipeline is definitely a format that should be comparable- it's just that the two apps don't share the same extension type and the app you want to export to isn't in the share menu. Anybuffer has become mature enough that I have yet to run into a situation where it wasn't available for either import or export. Anybuffer includes a lot of additional features that I initially thought were overkill, but as I used it more I found that it was convenient to share things to it in bulk rather than one at a time. This meant that having ways to keep things organized within Anybuffer was important, and there are many good ways to do that depending on your style. I like having a folder for each kind of "pipeline" that I use it for. Also, I use Anybuffer for tasks like storing PDFs of bills that I've submitted for reimbursement, screenshots of active support issues I'm working on, coupons that are good for a limited time, and QR codes for things like Amazon returns. This allows me to have ephemeral storage where a file being present in a folder means I need to do something with it the next opportunity to do so. I will either have a permanent copy somewhere else if I need the record, but usually it's something I don't need to keep. If you start to use it you'll find ways that it becomes the duct tape between your apps that allows you to easily move things between them and save clippings in an orderly and uncomplicated manner that isn't a hack like filling up Notepad with junk.
App is crashing frequently else 5 stars.
This is a great app. But has a short coming that needs to be addressed ASAP when you store files like PDF, it does not show a graphic representation of the file in the iOS app. The Mac app will show graphic representations of almost every file but not the iOS app. Same thing happens with URLs when you send a PDF file to the app on the iOS version it’s shows you an icon with the logo of the app, but it is not enough to identify the document. This is a major shortcoming, because if you sent a lot of documents or PDF to the app, you will end up with icons that you have to open one by one in order to know what they have in them. I hope the developer fixes this soon.
Really happy that the developer keeps improving this helpful app!
Background app refresh is off for this app, but it constantly shows up as what drains about 30% of my battery overnight while I sleep. It also seems to crash a decent amount now. I think its been abandoned by its devs.
