Anytype - The Everything App

So far the app has been really REALLY great! The only downside is if it wants to be a successful note taking app that can exceed notion, the sync limit should be bigger than 1gb!! It's very well on its way to be used by more students as it has an offline function as opposed to notion

I’ve been using Anytype Beta for couple of months already and slowly migrating all my Notion stuff into it. I decided to do it manually so I can also get used to its system. Everything is great so far though there are still features I wish would be developed (i.e. basic computation on tables/database for simple budgeting) soon. Anyway, will do my best to help with anything I can.

I am a Notion user before. Then I switched to Obsidian for reasons that it is local first and can be used offline. But only a little bit boring. Then I came across Anytype during its alpha stage. I got interested in it and then find it aesthetic and customizable. I put everything to it, business and personal, believing in Anytype. I left Obsidian completely. I was able to migrate to the Beta version smoothly and I look forward to more interesting things to come. Now Anytype will definitely be my second brain.ryerer

I always go opensoirce when possible. Broke Up with notion and going steady with anytype has been amazing

Need a few mintues to get to the homepage after clicking the app

After looking far and wide for a good notetaking app, this is by far the best by many leagues. It is an incredible versatile useful app very much appreciate this.

Got excited and want to try out Anytype. Tried to create an inline set inside a page but then stuck in “This inline set has no source” error forever. Can’t seem to find a way to specify source what so ever. Background: program everyday using OOP, used Notion, Logseq, RoamResearch happily, understands all the technology involving relational database etc.

My only little complaint would be that the app doesn’t remember the last state of the accordions . If I collapse them, they are expanded once I re-launch the app. (Eg. i collapse the “Recently Edited” group, and it doesn’t remain collapsed after app restart). Please fix that! 🙏🏼

I might not be the intended user for this app. I use it for long-form writing (think books). I use it on iOS, Android, and Windows. For some reason, the performance on iOS is really bad compared to Widows and Android. It just can’t handle the long document lengths and the typing gets all glitchy. It also has a minor incompatibility with keyboards, since you can’t use the arrow keys to switch between blocks like you can with windows. But I can deal with that, what I can’t deal with is not being able to type at all. I’ll be checking in regularly to see if it improves. Really believe in the Anytype team!
