Description

The Apex is the world’s most popular aquarium monitoring and control system.
From anywhere in the world, with your internet-connected Apex system and this app, you can:
- Monitor the health of your aquarium by observing current and past history of your Temperature, pH, ORP, Salinity and much more (depending on how your Apex System is equipped of course)
- Control the equipment on your aquarium - lights, pumps, heater, etc. Turn them off and on, adjust the lighting spectrum, change pump modes and many other functions.
- Observe your aquarium via connected IP web cams.
- Enter key water testing parameters such as Alkalinity, Calcium, Phosphates, etc.
- Enter notes about observations of your aquarium, maintenance, fish health, etc.
- Remotely feed your fish, right from your handheld device!
- Monitor and control more than one aquarium - either yours or friends.
- Get immediate iOS notifications when something goes wrong in your aquarium (leaks, overheating, pH out of range, water level issues, etc.)
Requires:
Any Apex System (Apex, ApexEL, Apex Classic, Apex Gold, Apex Lite, or Apex Jr.)
The Apex, and your iOS device, must both be connected to the internet
An Apex Fusion account (Apex Fusion is our free, cloud-based service)

No support for slightly older devices

Should be able to use older iPads as monitors and you can’t.

Great for control - could be better

First I love the functionality of seeing what is plugged in and then writing if/then rules to turn stuff off and getting alerts on parameters. As others have said please please add a widget for iOS. Also I find it ridiculous that the data set view is only 7 days long. I want to view parameters swings over months and then view how things have changed. The fact I have to scroll to see and then can only view that week is so silly for a hobby that takes a longterm approach to changes.

Terrible app

So I have had this system on a shelf for a couple three years. I was able to get the app and apex system connected to wifi. However in order to use the DOS pump you need to update firmware. The video that explains the process is completely worthless as it uses a completely different version of apex unit. The home screen on the app…..would be better off if a 10 year old designed it. Absolutely no intuitive flow. NONE. The app needs to be redesigned. Period.

Needs a widget

I love Neptune and its product ecosystem but this app needs a widget. Being able to see your aquarium’s parameters at a glance would be game changing and I know this feature has been requested for years now. PLEASE ADD A WIDGET

0 stars - it gets worse and worse with every update

This app has some of the most annoying bugs, like the one that repeatedly causes disconnection and repeated wasting of calibration solution. I'd give 0 stars if I could because without calibration, the readings are useless. Update 1: Another reason for 1 star: rather than make meaningful updates, these clowns are changing checkboxes to toggles. Very important updates right there... NOT! What a waste of time! Update 2: Also now the automatic water change task no longer supports gallons. In their quest to add waste-of-time improvements, they've broken fundamental workflows. The UX now only supports mL despite the dropdown being set to gallons. Get it together people!! Nail the basics!

Nightmare setup

On the Apex pro box it states there is an easy setup video guide showing you how to set up each piece of equipment. This guide on the app shows you how to power it on, then how to set up WIFI. That’s it. Then it sends you to the app and you are supposed to intuitively know where to go and what to do. From there, assuming you find what your looking for, everything is written. No videos. Plug in your PH probe. Which one is that?? Nothing is labeled. A box of parts. How can a project team overlook such basic steps in getting a box of parts set up?

I really wanted to like this

This system is not user friendly. Trying to talk to someone requires a ticket. The low water level never worked on this system. The ph checker quit working 2 months after I got it. It does not work on a 5g network, which everything is switching to. It’s so complicated to adjust things, you almost need to be a programmer. It’s not for people use to normal apps.

Can’t stand this UI setup or anything about this system. Completely regret getting it.

Great app!

Awesome app especially since it’s web based. Something for the future that would be amazing is to have live activity’s of ph or temp or any other monitoring the Apex system does. Overall impressed with the app!
