《首钢日报》是由中国新闻出版总署批准公开发行、具有国内统一刊号的企业报。《首钢日报》创刊于1953年，目前是对开4版，周一到周五每天一期，发行35000份。
《首钢日报》办报宗旨是：正确宣传党的路线、方针、政策，及时宣传首钢的改革思路、决策，报道首钢的改革成就、经验，传播国内国际各种信息，反映职工意见、建议和要求，注重思想性、知识性、服务性、趣味性，努力发挥报纸的引导、教育、激励和鞭策的作用。
《首钢日报》是一张综合性的报纸，既有首钢内部、兄弟企业新闻，又有国际、国内社会信息、动态，在新闻时效上与社会上各新闻媒体同步，《首钢日报》是沟通首钢上下及各单位之间的桥梁；也是首钢观察社会、社会了解首钢的窗口。
《首钢日报》坚持与时俱进、与世同行，贴近职工、贴近基层、贴近一线、贴近生活，坚持为改革发展服务，为生产经营服务，为职工群众服务，说实话、说真话、说新话，以朴实的文风、丰富的内容，力争成为具有时代特征、首钢特色，具有广泛社会影响的报纸。
