《My Very First Mother Goose》所收录的押韵诗歌是专为儿童做的短诗，押韵生动，结合了各式的音节、韵脚和尾音，读起来朗朗上口。廖彩杏认为无论学习任何语言，在开口说话的初期，童谣都是最适合用来发展听觉优势与口语流利的材料。在孩子语言启蒙的初期，父母多用童谣磨练孩子的耳朵，小小孩对于韵脚的喜爱来自于他们天真的本能，长期坚持不仅能够让小小孩领悟到语言韵律之美，也给生活平添许多趣味。
我们希望孩子学习英文是先从兴趣开始的，歌谣是最直接的起点，小孩子喜欢跟着唱歌，不用管单词复杂与否，先学习口音，感受英文读音的韵律，我们配备了一段一段的读音，还有每个单词的发音，让小孩子可以轻松学习发音，唱歌更有自信！
