当发生重大自然灾害、突发事件、公共卫生与社会安全等突发公共危机时，应急广播可提供一种迅速快捷的讯息传输通道，在第一时间把灾害消息或灾害可能造成的危害传递到民众手中，让人民群众在第一时间知道发生了什么事情，应该怎么撤离、避险，将生命财产损失降到最低。
应急广播移动平台 App包含下列功能:
1.远程管理并控制已经搭建并规划入"应急广播系统"的广播硬件设备.
2.查看当前在线设备的'播发状态','GIS地图','终端列表','播放评估','服务器信息'等关键信息.
3.通过本移动平台控制硬件设备的开关机,支持向数字广播设备下发通知内容.
4.可以回传硬件设备的监控信息,远程查看广播信息
