🤔 The Dungeon Tracer app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
The “normal” level is too difficult. I’ve played for many hours and find that as you progress on normal The enemies SIGNIFICANTLY out number everything else on board. I can see on hard and levels above but normal? And I haven’t been able to unlock anything. At the very least make it to where you can unlock new characters and weapons on easy and use those same unlocks on harder levels to get more advanced characters and items. But since the easy level doesn’t give you any unlocks (which isn’t so easy at times) then it feels like a waste of time playing. I LOVE the concept and gameplay execution. But there’s no joy when you can’t advance. (Playing normal or harder). And when you do advance you get nothing out of except a high score (Playing easy). Better yet-why not make to where every-time you play (regardless of the difficulty level) the game keeps a running accumulative score. And when you reach certain score milestones you’ll get to unlock characters and items. That way no matter how hard the game gets -you know you’ll be rewarded if you hang in there. Please do a major update and implement this idea. Then it will be a five star game.
Dungeon raid is back
I don’t think I can thank you enough for basically bringing back one of the best games I’ve ever played back to iOS. Checking and seeing dungeon raid was gone was so devastating but I’m really glad I found this game. You’re doing such an amazing thing making this game and working on it still. It makes me really happy to see this games still getting updates. Anyways, thank you so much
New update ruined it
New update made it impossible for me — too hard to advance and still not able to improve characters enough
When do I start unlocking/leveling up?
I’ve played 29 games on Normal mode and killed my share of special enemies, but have neither unlocked nor leveled up a single thing. Just exactly how many special enemies killed is required to start seeing character advancement, new classes, and new perks? This is getting boring fast.
Also, does the game contain some of the original sfx from Dungeon Raid? If so, that’s a cool tip of the hat.
Doesn’t fit my screen
Please add the option to allow the game to fit the screen for iPads.
Very unclear and boring game- no progression
The basic gameplay loop looks fun. I tried out the first sample battle, and it lasted over an hour till I was finally killed. And when I died, it was kind of on purpose because I was getting bored of such a long fight. After the battle, it looks like I didn’t unlock anything or progress anything. Complete and utter confusing waste of time. after an hour of playing a game and winning I should have some sort of progress. I’m guessing that dev is just sadistic or is waiting for people to buy expensive upgrades. Stay away not even worth $.99 . absolutely no sense of progression.
Entertaining but needs polishing
I’m enjoying the game, but I’ve run into some problems. When I first started playing, I leveled the assassin to 3rd level. Now that I’ve unlocked all of the classes, none of the classes I’ve tried can be leveled. The special icon that used to occasionally drop after killing a boss just stopped appearing. Second, sometimes there’s an ability attached to items, but I have no idea how to use those abilities. Lastly, the “very hard” mode seems to be over-tuned. I survive hours in a run on “hard” mode, but can’t survive long enough to even reach my first upgrade on “very hard” mode. Maybe the meta-progression will fix that problem, but I can’t test that right now.
Anyway, I think you have a solid foundation here. The game will be great with some bug fixing and polishing, and has the potential to be amazing with another layer or two of depth.
Thanks!
Nice!
So stoked to see somebody bring back the spirit of Dungeon Raid, but can only hope more Special monsters will be added over time!
Update: Nice to hear more specials are in the works! I think my favorite aspect of the game is having to deal with multiple specials at once with their powers creating really unique situations as they interact with one another.
Broken
The game doesn’t allow you to progress past 10 or so turns. Enemies inundate the player and there’s seemingly now way to deal them damage. The board is quickly overwhelmed with enemy icons that eliminate any way to progress.
Edit: Easy mode allows you to play seemingly forever. No checkpoints. Levels. Sense of progression. Normal mode spikes difficulty to a few dozen turns. No balancing and no reason to play again.
