Decent app/no bugs, but great content/novel selection
For upper-intermediate to advanced readers of Japanese. 1Q84, books 1 through 3, in native Japanese with an OK built-in dictionary and optional Japanese Siri readings of every single passage... if you are a Murakami fan and a serious student of Japanese this app can get you to another level. I pair it with imiwa? and the japaneseapp.com dictionaries/tools for copying-and-pasting more difficult passages. The Siri dictation is also a lot more useful than I would have thought.
awesome
its awesome but it would be wonderful if we can upload our own dictionary.
Many wrong definitions
This app is such a good idea, but not only are there not definitions for a lot of the words, but the definitions actually provided are usually wrong! For example, the past tense ending "ました" is highlighted as its own word and translated to "directly below." This is a gross error that anyone with any familiarity with Japanese would catch immediately. Other definitions are just as off. Please edit the stories!
Ms
Really impressed that this exists. Amazing app, thank you!
