《嵐與山之彼端》是一款新形態多元玩法的AVG文字冒險遊戲，遊戲中男女主人公的名字有「山」與「嵐」兩個意象。
遊戲中的地名也會圍繞「山」和「嵐」展開。
嵐本意為山林中的霧氣，神秘而縹緲，出現和消失都伴有隨機性；山則穩定而恒久，不被時間磨滅。兩種意象貼合遊戲懸疑解密的劇情設計，也是劇情發展的隱喻。
本遊戲主題為懸疑解謎，「嵐」代表謎團，「山」代表客觀存在的真相，玩家需要根據線索抽絲剝繭，不斷解開謎團尋求真相。
