This app is what I was looking for for the past few years. All of the other apps cost money, didn’t help, etc. But with this you can learn so many different things at different times! And I’m had this app since March (4 months ago) and I haven’t had to pay almost anything. Even the mini games are free and I can actually learn and remember how to say words/sentences. I love this app so much and I think its great for everyone. Even beginners
DO NOT DOWNLOAD
This app is terrible. Every time I try to do a lesson, and add pops up that takes up half of the screen, making the lesson impossible to do. You cannot block these ads with VPN, I can’t even finish two lessons in one sitting without having to restart the app. Do not waste your time. This app is trash.
Exactly what I was looking for!
I love that this app implements different learning styles like handwriting, typing, and pronunciation to learn Hangul. This app is VERY in depth- they offer lots of practice opportunities without making it boring. It feels exciting to actually be learning something from a phone app.
However I have a few notes to the developer: I think it might be helpful for first time learners to receive "helpful tips" on special characters like ㅇ, double consonants, and dipthongs. Or perhaps you can create a separate learning bubble in the home page for this. My second thought is that I love the idea of collecting these recipe cards but it feels a bit exhausting receiving one after every study set. Perhaps it would feel more rewarding to receive them after 10 study sets or whatever. This way the player might feel more incentive to continue learning.
Actually really good!
Although the User Interface(in my opinion) is not very pleasing to the eye, it’s a GREAT app for learning. I’ve been learning a lot quicker so far. Keep it up developer!
Endless opportunities to learn!
This app is easy to use, giving one many bite-sized opportunities to build knowledge of the Korean language.
Practical and actually useful!
I’m a language nerd and have studied many of them (10+) over my 36 years, so I’ve had lots of experience with different modes of learning. This app is one of the most useful and practical language learning programs I have ever used. I appreciate how it breaks down grammar and how it has many different options (visual, auditory, writing, etc.) to give you lots of great practice and explanations. There are so many helpful games and minimal ads, so you can just keep going and going. I’ve only been using this app for a few days and already my Korean has improved greatly. It keeps me wanting to play with all of the fun, encouraging graphics/sounds and I feel I will be much better prepared when I move to Seoul this summer! A+ from this teacher, developers!
No sound?
Supper cute app I like the games but the sound is broken, I’ve tried everything! It doesn’t seem like others are having this problem or else the reviews would say so I’m lost
Audio
Not obvious that there is absolutely no sound if phone is in silent mode. I never turn silent mode off but have to do so for this app to work!?!? All other apps are audible in silent mode.
Best app for actually learning Korean
So far I’ve been using other language apps to learn Korean. Although I learned the alphabet I didn’t feel like I was learning and, more importantly, retaining any words. Three days in and I’ve learned way more with Patchim. Also, love the ability to change the background image for everything! It makes the learning more fun (so much SKZ) Highly recommend.
Favorite app for learning Korean
Such a severely underrated app - criminally underrated! I started out using this to learn Korean, but over time my classes became harder and I had to put learning Korean on the back burner (no time to learn). And yet still, despite that, I use this app purely because it is fun. Not to learn Korean - for fun. And I’m also learning Korean. Give it a try! Thanks developer(s), I hope you’re doing well.
