(4) 培養品德,加強對社群的責任感;
(5) 體認中華文化,培養對國家、民族的感情。

中國語文教育的課程是要讓學生獲得全面而均衡的語文學習經歷,並循以下方向發展:
* 提升語文素養
* 開放學習材料,重視經典閱讀
* 拓寬閱讀面,增加閱讀量,提升閱讀深度
* 配合資訊科技教育的發展,提升語文學與教的成效
* 進一步加強評估促進學習的作用
* 照顧學生學習語文的多樣性
* 按校本需要及條件推動「用普通話教中文」
* 提供更多實踐普通話的機會,加強自學
