音节是读音的基本单位。任何单词的读音都可以分解为音节。根据单词包含的音节数，可分为单音节，双音节和多音节。音节拼读法是根据音节为基本单位拼读单词，强调音节的整体拼读；而自然拼读法是以音素为基本单位，强调音素和字母或字母组合的对应关系。
