Fed up with those premium stuff!
The new way of making you pay, the app is for free just stocking your data on is not!
Nothing is for free anymore and if something is for free, it won’t last long.
As it happened for Grid Diary amongst others:
I liked Grid at the beginning it’s idea was good (it’s almost like One Day for the details: it’s asking you everyday the weather, music, mood, place...) , I’ve stupidly payed for a premium diary, and regret doing so. I’m going to loose it all as soon as I stop paying, I can’t transfer my data on my PC it’s not a Mac!

der Entscheid, die Entwicklung einzustellen, ist mehr als enttäuschend. Ich habe erst vor Kurzem die Pro-Version gekauft, weil sie meinen Bedürfnissen perfekt entspricht. Ich will kein Subskriptionsmodell für Features, die völlig sinnlos sind. Diese Marketingstrategie kostet volle vier Sterne auf einen Schlag - Gratulation.
new update = crashing
Unfortunatrly this app is not working anymore since the new update, won‘t even launch anymore. So far I enjoyed it a lot but it‘s time to find a new model.

Don’t « upgrade » it’s a downgrade
Don’t « upgrade » to a subscription model for anything that is supposed to be used long term. A diary is an archive of your life and should not depend either on a free product nor a rented one.
The move to a subscription model is an upgrade for the developer, not the user. And it’s a bad move.
I’m happy to subscribe to a service that brings me value content, not to a product that is a container for my own content.

By far the best diary app I have ever seen
I have been looking for years for a really good diary app and have been switching constantly. Grid Diary I have been using since nearly a month now and love it every day, for the following reasons:
- Simple and user friendly design
- Great logic with Grids you fill every day. You can set different questions you want to answer every day and simply fill out the grid.
- Easy to search and review old posts. With the grid function you can go back in time along one particular topic, e.g. How much sports did I do today.
- Ability to fill in your diary entry through a online platform (Beta)
- Amazing attention to details, e.g. Reminders what was one week ago, what was one month ago
- Sync feature across different devices
- Password protection and fingerprint capability
- Simple yet interesting statistics on your posts.
With this app, writing diary is a lot of fun. Definitely worth the investment.
