自从美猴王离开花果山后，猴群在猴子长老的管理下，不断发展壮大，数量越来越多，于是，负责寻找食物的小猴子的责任也就越来越重了，他必须在有限的时间内找到数量足够多的食物，特别是美味的香蕉，才能满足大家的需要。
为了能够尽可能地带回更多香蕉，聪明机智的小猴子就要想办法减轻自己的食物消耗啊，还没回山，就把找到的食物自己都吃光了怎么行呢？于是小猴子就特别留意观察山林里的地形走势，特意找那些近路，这样就能有效节省自己的体力啦。小猴子还有一个小窍门，就是尽量将不同地方的香蕉林规划成一条线路，而不是东找找，西看看，绕来绕去白白浪费时间。
寻找美味香蕉的路途上充满了鲜花和荆棘，也充满了乐趣和挑战。聪明的小猴子发现，如果能够顺路找到玉米地，吃上一根玉米，不但能够增强体力，还能减少香蕉的食用，真是一举两得呢！除了吃玉米的乐趣，小猴子还需要仔细提防毒草花的威胁，因为如果不小心误食了它，就会拉肚子，不但变得虚弱没力气，还会耽误找香蕉的正事，得不偿失啊。
就这样，小猴子就在一天天的“香蕉之旅”中，不断成长，越来越有智慧，找来的香蕉又多又大又甜，花果山每天都充满了欢声笑语！
