It does not work well at all, using voiceover, after screen reader in Apple devices. When I called Technical Support, they told me the best option would be to use Amazon echo devices to control. Which I definitely try to stay away from the Amazon ecosystem, and have invested in the Apple ecosystem. Perhaps this could be part of some software upgrade to make it more accessible.
Home is on acre lot. WiFi from house does not reach pond. Therefore, useless.
So I’ve had this app for a couple years now to control the pump. It will control the pump speed well, and you can put in automations and such, so it’s not bad. Recently I bought the ‘smart’ dosing system for my pond, and this where I get annoyed. The app will not ‘change’ any of the settings on the dosing system at all. When you set up the app for the dosing system, it asks you how big (in gallons) is the pond? Then it asks what treatment(s) are in the dosing system and their size. If you’re not dosing the pond correctly for its size, the app will tell you, but it won’t tell you what the RIGHT dose is (had to go back to the face of old system to figure that out). You also have to make the dosing adjustment at the device itself, can’t do it with the app. The app claims it will alert you when chems are 90% depleted, but if you’ve been running dosing systems for awhile, you already know how long a chem bag lasts for your pond. In short, Aquascape needs to improve how ‘smart’ some of these products are. If it can’t be ADJUSTED by the app, then it’s not really ‘smart’ at all.
I like many others these days have a mesh wifi system that connects my various devices on the optimal wifi band (2.4ghz vs 5 ghz). Of course my iPhone hood on 5Ghz while the pump controller is limited to the 2.4ghz band thereby rendering the app useless bc my phone cannot communicate or display flow speed on my pump to toggle. We need a fix outside of just turning off our 5Ghz signal.
Love it
I like the convenience the app provides. It was easy to set-up and has worked flawlessly - turning pump on and off and adjusting the flow rate. Very nice. Unfortunately the incessant in-app notice to allow notifications is a bit much. Every time? C’mon…. And no ability to provide feedback within the app. Cost you a couple of stars.
Have there been any recent reported issues with the iPhone app hanging up on ‘waiting for device’ when configuring the light controller for use. Been thru all the troubleshooting. Have all units side by side so no signal issues.
I’d love to see Aquascape invest some more time and money into this app. We have invested several thousand dollars in Aquascape equipment (2 pumps, 3 auto dosers, thermometer, transformers, 22 pond lights, etc) For that kind of investment…the app needs to be better since it’s the primary interface that customers use to interact with their Aquascape products.
Works fine, But it has a pretty complex set up to get it working right instruction book doesn’t agree with the video on YouTube but once you get it working it works good
