ARTECHOUSE FAQ
Is ARTECHOUSE free?
Yes, ARTECHOUSE is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is ARTECHOUSE legit?
🤔 The ARTECHOUSE app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
Wanted a couple fun Instagram pictures and hoped the exhibit would be a fun walk for the price. We went during the cool blue period and it was super boring. The app barely worked and it was barely worth it. Don’t wast your cash.
No audio in saved videos
I used this app to record videos of the experience and to save them, since the feature is provided IN the app itself. Upon saving my videos to my phone, NONE OF THEM HAD AUDIO. 😒
I don't understand how Artechouse can be so detailed and elaborate in their exhibits, but have an app that won't save audio. Extremely disappointed as the person who I went with, and it was their first time going, wanted the recording of themself. But it's useless without the sound.
Extended Reality from home
Incredible augmented reality and extended reality experiences from home. This has been an awesome app to play around with and experience artechouse during quarantine.
Didn’t save any of my pictures
The app allowed me to see the AR effects but the “save to gallery” option didn’t save ANY of my photos.
Super fun!
Definitely download if you’re going to the AMAZEBALLS museum. If it’s not supported on your phone, they typically have iPads or something you can borrow so you can see the augmented reality stuff. But by having it yourself, you can take pics. PS: Artechouse is the most amazing museum I’ve ever been to. Been to every installation at least once (some 5 times) in the last year and a half.
Main room
Make sure you sit down on those lovely seats and open the app. You can feed the creatures while touching the screen. I made them go left and right while other people were moving in front of the screen. It’s a fun experience to have.
Buying drinks should be easy
The DC Fractal Worlds exhibit was amazing! But... my wife and I tried to order drinks and the bartender insisted we download the app to see the menu. After several minutes of frustration with the app we gave up on having drinks altogether. When poor app design prevents a venue from selling drinks something is very wrong...
Don’t bother: Needs some work
Honestly, don’t bother with this app while in the gallery. The exhibit is very cool, and the app doesn’t add much to the experience.
This app looks like it was designed for some other phone (Android?). It barely works at any of the activation points at the gallery. When it does work, it’s okay, but only for a few seconds. I hope that with some of Apple’s AR kit frameworks, this app can see some real improvement soon. For now, don’t bother.
Black screen, no image
Last version worked, but now all I get is a black screen when I try I look at a target. Not good.
Didn’t work, black screen for augmented reality
App didn’t work at all for its main purpose, the augmented reality. When trying to use the feature it only showed a blank black screen instead of my camera view. Considering I paid money for my tickets and wasn’t able to fully enjoy the exhibit with all its features, I’m disappointed.
