Ascension Reviews

Good game, prices different in app to those listed on store page

Captain wigwam on

Good deckbuilding game. Shame prices advertised for in app dlc on the App Store page are significantly less than those you find in the app. That was disappointing and probably breaks some advertising law.

Restore function doesn’t work

I can’t now access the decks I bought. It’s a shame as it’s a good game.

Problem with in-game buys

ZenWitherwings on

United Kingdom

The game is great. Love it. But I started playing it on my iphone and bought a couple of expansions, and when I opened it on my ipad those two expansions weren’t available to choose them to play, but to buy them (again). I’m using the same account on both iphone and ipad. Shouldn’t the in-game bought expansions be available on both devices???

Brilliant deck-building game

noxsta on

United Kingdom

I love dominion and hero wars and star realms so I was very excited to check this similar card game out-it’s awesome! The gameplay is just what I wanted in a deck builder but with so many unique and interesting little twists which make for a really well balanced and enjoyable experience each game. Even offline, the repeat play value is very high since there are sooooo many cards and so much variance. I like the way all cards have a point value which is totalled at the end and added to ur score, it means that a player can’t just hone down their deck cos u will lose on points, it means each turn what u purchase must be considered for end game as well as during the game itself. The art is just incredible and totally unique. Fantastic! I would like to see more customisation of what cards I can include in off line games, so I can go into an expansion and cherry pick a few to not put in as I do choose - that would be so nice please! Well done on a great creation 😊

Great async multiplayer deck building game

Budzgood on

United Kingdom

I’ve been playing This for years and it’s a lot of fun and just works really well for async multiplayer gaming. It’s quick to load up and take your turn and the notifications always seem to work. Loads of expansions to keep the game fresh. There is room for improvement, but the fact I’m still regularly playing multiplayer games years after I first purchased it makes it a 5 star game for me.

Running on iOS 10.3.3

Arkyoptrix on

Edit 14/4/20: uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and lo-and-behold, the app gets past the logos and into the main menu! First ran an offline local 2 player game and the app crashed as it was loading the cards for player 2 (hence minus one star). Restarted the app and began an offline game versus CPU and so far everything seems to be okay. Gets a bit laggy and slow occasionally, but I expected this due to running the app on ageing hardware. - Original comments: This is one of the few games I still play on my ageing 4th gen iPad and, up until this morning, I had been reluctant to update to the latest 2.2 version as I wanted a version of the app with the old card art that matches my physical cards. However, I decided to finally update so that I could access the later expansions and play online (as the last version I was using was hanging on the login screen), only to find that the app gets past the initial logos and plays 2 notes of music before crashing. Hoping for a bugfix soon.

5 Star Game - Old Issues Dealt With

Productivity Pete on

United Kingdom

Checked in again after a long time off. The crashing issues that turned me off the first time have been dealt with. All that is left is a fantastic game.

Great game, detracted by some niggles

n1ghtcraw1er on

United Kingdom

The base game and expansions in themselves are really good and have provided me with the most time in an app so far. I have played mostly pass and play with my partner with some solo play. I notice disappearing cards occasionally which is an annoyance. The biggest annoyance is having to rewatch the hand played when it’s passed over, no need for it, just set it as an option if need be. Really slows the game down. The later expansions are not as interesting, tried to add mechanics to the game, and for me they just make it overly complicated. A final nag is on the 60 star limit on online games. Otherwise well worth playing.

Crashing.

Keeps crashing. All the time.

Too difficult & data farming

Too difficult to set up. Makes you create an account. I have enough accounts I’m not creating another to give you data
