Description

Would you like to continue your travels back through time? Well, jump on the Ancient Earth time machine app and travel back to a time before the supercontinent of Pangea came together (540 Ma- 200 Ma). This version of Ancient Earth vividly illustrates the continental collisions that assembled the the supercontinent of Pangea during the Paleozoic and early Mesozoic. Assembly of Pangea Reviews

Not for my iPhone

This doesn't work on my iPhone at all. I try to scroll the timeline at the bottom, but it slides back to the beginning when I get to the edge of the screen and nothing moves.

Great summary of plate movements and topography

I am a geologist and study the history of earth. This app has incorporated data from thousands of sources. The maps shown here are the gold standard in the geologist community. Being able to view them in the public domain has made my job easier.

Could be better

I love the free Ancient Earth app. I am sad you have to buy two apps to go farther back in time. I am happy to pay for this app, but it should include the whole timeline available. I expect eventually the resolution of the images could improve, but even now it is super educational.

SAVE YOUR MONEY! What a disappointment! I was really expecting a time-progressed movement of the continents, not holding a finger and sliding across a timeline. If you lift your finger, it goes back to the start. Could have been a great app, but instead, mediocre at best.

Could have been great...

I was disappointed that you have to buy TWO $10 apps to get all of earth's geologic history. The control bar at the bottom of the screen is weird, wonky, and not easy to use. The globe movement is not smooth and I wish the globe stayed oriented north, or at least had the option to lock the north-south orientation. Also, there's no supporting information, which would have been easy to include. Not worth it, in short.
