BE WARNED!!!

Before you buy, look at the last time this app was updated. More than THREE years ago. This company is a scam. Their speed is very slow compared to my local vpn which I bought for 10 percent the price they charge. It never drops and is always updated. Their sales are final and they won’t agree to a refund so stay away. You have been warned!

Never works with chrome first try. Be faster to just learn mandarin and use baidu

Poor performance on iPhone

The service itself is well worth the money, but not if you’re only using iPhone. On PC and android, Astrill works great. But on iPhone it disconnects frequently and gets stuck somewhere between connected and not, bricking the internet until you uninstall the app. Additionally, the app looks like the last time it was updated was about 5 years ago whereas the Android version has a newer and better interface with some more capabilities than iPhone version (switching from stealthVPN to WireGuard to OpenVPN). If you only will use this for your iPhone or ipad I would advise looking for another VPN.

Issues

Helpful in China, but often doesn’t turn on when I want it to turn on, and doesn’t turn off when I want it to turn off.

Only VPN for China

Cons: - gets stuck on the connect / disconnect as others have said. Basically bricks your internet connection until it finally severs the connection - sometimes says it’s working but isn’t - works AMAZING on PC/Mac, 100% reliable and fast. On the fone it’s 50/50 Pros: - There simply is no other vpn that works this well in China. On your laptop, it works 100% of the time. You don’t even think about it - it’s always working flawlessly Advice to management: Update the dang fone app. It looks dated (who cares) and it doesn’t work nearly as well or consistently as the PC version!!! Update it!!! Do it!!!! We china expats will thank you!!!

They are Scammers , please do not buy it , they suspended all the devices after took the money from you. They are a big fraud

Service is ok, app is horrible

Like the vpn but the app is horrible compared to express. Keeps disconnecting and crashing.

Doesn't work at all - and they won't let you cancel

This did not work even one minute, I was in China for several days. I used a different vpn which worked perfectly well. Worst part of Astrill VPN, not only does it not work but there is no way to cancel within the supposedly-free trial period. There is no way to cancel through your phone settings, nor does the app have a place to unsubscribe or cancel. You have to send them an email and hope they'll actually respond rather than continuing to charge your credit card and ignore your emails.
