AstroPrint (for 3D Printing)

J’ai pris l’option DIY avec un rasperry 3+ et une Raspicam. L’installation en passant par un access point temporaire pourrait être simplifiée (avec un dhcpd côté Astroprint par ex !!), mais une fois compris le principe c’est assez simple de lui faire rejoindre le réseau wifi de la maison. Nous avons testé plusieurs produits plus ou moins similaires et c’est sans hésitation que nous avons pris AstroPrint (et son abonnement de 10$/mois pouvant gérer 5 imprimantes). Une fois installé la box est joignable d’un ordinateur sur le même réseau avec la version desktop, en wifi avec un smartphone ou en http(s) avec n’importe quoi. Toutes les fonctionnalités nécessaires sont présentes et faire un time-lapse ou éteindre proprement son imprimante sont des petits + qui nous ont fait choisir AstroPrint :)

Super application compagnon de mon imprimante 3D. Logiciel très simple à installer sur un Raspberry Pi3 B+ et permet de contrôler/garder un œil sur l’imprimante à distance. Soit en réseau depuis son ordi ou soit via l’appli depuis son smartphone (et ce, même à l’extérieur!) Possibilité de brancher une webcam sur la Pi et de récupérer le flux vidéo sur l’appli. Il est possible de récupérer des objets directement sur Thingivers, de slicer et de les envoyer directement à distance sur l’imprimante ! Magique, simplement magique ! Vraiment un super logiciel, facile d’accès avec une interface très simple et qui donne une autre vision de l’impression 3D. Pour l’investissement y’a pas à hésiter, foncez acheter un Pi3 et installez cette merveille ! Bravo à toute l’équipe !

Amazing app. It’s become my default app for using my 3d printer. Only issue is landscape support. I plug my ipad into my monitor at my desk but cant use the app in landscape.

I’ve reset my password, tried to make a new account, and It still won’t let me use the online website, and I can’t find any way to download the gcode from the app to my iPhone files

After a few false starts, I was up in running and monitoring my MK2S. Works well at Starbucks!!

The app only supports portrait mode, this is already a show stopped as my iPad is almost always on it’s magic keyboard.

The same credentials that work fine on the browser version are rejected on the app. if I can't log in then any potential functionality inside is useless.

I wouldn’t 3D print without it!

No app is perfect, and this one is no exception, but love how easy and simple it is to use, and hey, if you only have 1 or 2 3D printers is free, can’t beat that “price”. Even though I’m having some issues with the app I still gave it 5 stars as the issues I’ve had I think are easy to fix.

Thingiverse app does not work on astroprint. I click on the sign in button and then the it just takes me back to the home page! Tell me if I’m doing something wrong!
