recently I wanted to bridge a Bluetooth MIDI signal to a PC. Midimux didn’t work. But a wired network connection and Audiobus 3 works. You need a CCK, and a USB-network adapter. Connect this to a wired network, and in Audiobus, MIDI section, PC’s appear for input or output. Very elegant and with low latency. There surely are other host apps like Audiobus that can bridge different MIDI ports, also over LAN, but with the ones I tried there was no LAN destination. Audiobus was the poineer, and is still a reliable tool many years later.
Very recommendable!
It's so useful, links a bunch of audio apps together, and now with the FX mixer it's getting very close to being an AUM replacement. It just needs one more thing: MIDI control for the volume of tracks/FX, mute/unmute etc. That alone would make it the best music app hub!
Audiobus 2 was the standard to "glue" different apps in ios. Audiobus 3 extends this with true midi capabilities-brilliant! For this:5 stars. There are not that many music apps with midi output capabilities as required by ab3, may need yet a while to get the market grow. Some midi tools from johannes doerr plus ab3 allow a.e split keyboard play with two synths, monitoring the midi numbers, swapping midi channels etc-really a strong combo. Where ab3 midi is a bit rigid, it can sometimes be workedaround via aum kymatica, this combo is a bit fiddly but works, also with a lot older synths. AB3 sets the standards again-starts simple but has also features for advanced users-
Top app, need to be a bit more mature to have 5 stars but I trust the devs will do it as they always did in the past
This app is good and bueno to used
UPDATE: Recent update has resolved IAA zombie process issue and removed incessant "continue" button. Initial app launch is still slow (trying to phone home?), and highly inappropriate identity trackers still exist. Even so, an improvement from before. OLD: My my... They've actually managed to make it worse... After years without any usability improvements and few bug fixes, this new patch introduces an incessant "continue" button on the boot splash instead of just launching the interface as before, as well as breaks IAA even further (now they launch as zombie processes, requiring manual intervention or even reboot). Worst of all, IT NOW CONTAINS TRACKERS.
Amazing! Makes the iPad worth buying as it turns it into a multi fix processor & MIDI machine! About to use it with my mini brute 2! Works great!
Love this app for adding layers to vocals, guitar and really any other instruments. I’m using an old iPhone XS on my guitar pedalboard and using it live with no issues. With my Quad Cortex, Nano Cortex, Kemper and HX Stomp it’s fantastic as a host for multiple programs and midi hub for all of them. Love this app. ❤️❤️
