I feel Ava should do a bit more research on their user experience. first, the “Did You Know” daily fact: a special kind of torture for those struggling with getting pregnant. Are these personalized or based on my data, at all? Getting told “being over or under weight can harm your chances of getting pregnant” or info about PCOS or articles about how ovulation can go wrong, all SUPER unhelpful unless it’s based on something you’re detecting from my data. I already have relatives who make unhelpful, general suggestions and I don’t need it on the daily from this app. If it were instead “we noticed you are not having the normal signs of ovulation, based on that, it could be XYZ to look into” …much more helpful. The “Health Data” section: useless, it means nothing to me. Being told “your temperature went up three days in a row” (not during ovulation) is not helpful, is it just an observation? Does it mean something? The numbers don’t mean a thing unless you make them meaningful. The “Ava world” articles: again, just more fodder for anxiety and guilt. Unless it’s being targeted to me for some reason. Again my main suggestion: spend more time researching how your users interact with the app. *If I can’t act on it, don’t give me more content just for the sake of it.* I promise I’m getting badgered by this all over the place including social media and the real world.
This is my second monitor as my first one started malfunctioning within 2 weeks of use. It then took 3 months for the company to send me a replacement when in fact at that point all I wanted was a refund as the product failed and customer service was basically non-helpful outside of sending the same trouble shooting response repeatedly. When they finally sent the replacement monitor/watch it was a surprise as I never received a response from company addressing any of my product or customer service concerns. While the monitor has been collecting data now for a couple weeks and appears to be working “normal” it has many flaws in readings. It does not appear to be able to differentiate between awake/asleep, it will not adjust any metrics based on the changes in made on cycle time (as it was off when by the time I got second monitor), the temperature recordings appear to be off as well. Overall not happy with product at all but feel obligated to use as it was an expensive purchase. A product should have a guaranteed return/refund if it does not perform the functions advertised. Would not recommend and would not buy again.
I’ve been using ava for the past 2+ years now and liked it well enough - the band for the bracelet has broken now 3 times, and this last time I have not been able to get anyone from customer service to help me. so i’ve been without my tracker for the past month or so. prior to that the tracking is always hit or miss. it’s unfortunate that when it works, it’s good, but it’s not good all the time and i can’t get anyone from customer support to help. i would not recommend to friends and i will be trying a different company for my fertility tracking needs
I have been using this and it’s not making a chart. If I don’t remember to write down the info day of the next morning when I sync. Past days info is gone. Makes it hard to track anything when it isn’t properly working. I have reached out and the few responses I have gotten were to try from another device. Which I did and it didn’t solve the issue. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall and putting my phone in rice. 😂
I had high hopes for this watch and app. The app and watch do not accurately collect data. For example, the app will indicate I slept 4 hours when I've actually slept 7! Additionally, when I ovulate late, it doesn't move my ovulation date even after seeing signs that I ovulated late. I found that my free app along with a cheap $10 basal body thermometer works better, is easier, and way cheaper.
The accuracy of these readings is very important, and the app is very glitchy. Almost all of the times when I sync the data, it says there was an error syncing it but then actually did sync. The constant error messages are odd and make me nervous
This app has the least amount of information out of all the other apps to use that are much more affordable. The bracelet is very disappointing and seems cheap. No way to turn it off and you have to remember to charge it every single night.
I’ve used almost every type of cycle tracking app. Even if you don’t have the bracelet this app is excellent in predicting patterns and logging cycle data. It simple and intuitive with tracking, easy to add notes and includes hearts for the days you’re intimate. This has the perfect combo of logging enough but not bring overwhelming in too much info. If you do buy the bracelet it is somewhat uncomfortable to wear. So I’ve found myself not wearing it but still really enjoying the app
This app is not well formatted for the iPhone 12 mini. It’s like the app was only coded to be used on a larger screen and then they just cut a border off for the 12 mini. Makes it hard to enter some data as it won’t allow you to click on things that are close to the border or outside the screen range of the mini.
