Das Modul A+W iShape ist ein Zusatzmodul zum A+W CAD Designer (Shapes). Es ermöglicht die Digitalisierung von Modellscheiben (nicht rechteckige Scheiben) mit Hilfe einer Kamera und L-förmigen Referenzobjekten. Die Referenzobjekte werden auf die Schablone gelegt oder an ihr befestigt. Sie werden automatisch auf der Schablone erkannt und dienen dazu, zusätzliche Einstellungen beim Fotografieren überflüssig zu machen. Nachdem das Foto gemacht ist, wird das Bild in einem Hintergrund-Dienst verarbeitet. Ein hochpräziser Glättungsalgorithmus konvertiert das Bild in eine durch Bögen und Geraden definierte Form, die dann für die Weiterverarbeitung verwendbar ist.
