Description

The Awearness mobile application is a biofeedback meditation training tool, designed to teach the skill of meditation. The Awearness app is fully integrated with the Muse brain sensing headband. The Awearness app provides biofeedback chimes the moment you release from a thought, leveraging a function of the brain called proprioception (spatial awareness). The app comes complete with three proprioception based meditations that teach a four count breathing technique, proprioception and a full 20 minutes meditation sequence. Use the built in meditations or select your own iTunes music, guided meditations or streaming music service. The Awearness mobile application can be used with or without the Muse headband. Enjoy a revolutionary modern approach to the ancient practice of meditation.

Awearness Reviews

Did not work with IPad Pro

Would not work with my iPad Pro and Muse 2 headset. Something wrong with splash screen. I can change activity settings but unable to actually start a session. Do not appear to be any navigation options to get past first screen.

This app is very under-rated

The chimes are so much better than the bird sounds in the Muse app. While I like the other meditations in the Muse app the mind meditation is better in Awearness. The birds pull me out of my meditative state and the wind can be distracting. I also hate the way it uses calibration right before meditation so when I start off already calm it continues to give me wind when I’m clearly focused on my breathing. The Awearness app seems to better reflect my depth of focus and doesn’t distract me from it. I noticed there has never been an update but the app is so simple I haven’t seen a bug. I really hope the developer will make sure it stays usable. It seems like the website and life coach business that is attached to this is also defunct so I just hope IOS doesn’t change so much it stops working. I will say it’s so simplified that it’s hard to know how to use it or what the chimes even mean without watching the tutorial which is not in the app and has to be searched for on YouTube. I would take a half star from it if Apple allowed half stars. Do yourself a favor and search “Awearness tutorial,” on YouTube. To the developer. Thanks for the app. I really like it a lot. I suspect that there aren’t plans to expand on it but I do hope it stays working. I think a lot more could be done to make it findable and make it clear what it does and how to use it but seeing as it is free, I can’t really complain.

This is an elegant and streamlined app. It offers biofeedback chimes when used with a muse head set, several guided meditations and user controls which allow you to personalize your own practice... you can even use your own music behind the spoken meditation or on its own. Impressive app. Remember to watch the tutorial if you need help.
