The AWNfarm weather app delivers site- and crop-specific weather data, forecasts, and agricultural decision-support. This is a Washington State University AgWeatherNet (AWN) value-added service targeting agricultural producers in WA, OR and ID with operations in proximity to AWN stations.
The mobile app is designed to work in concert with a web app found at the domain awnfarm.org. Use the web interface to configure your organization and users, then the mobile app can be used to access weather data and decision support on-the-go for each site and unit you manage.
- For the first release in July 2020, the app is focused on weather. AgWeatherNet will continue to add crop-specific agricultural decision support modules over the next few months and years.
- While this app currently relies on station averaging to estimate site-specific weather conditions, AgWeatherNet meteorologists are actively working on interpolation models to automate and refine “site-specific” weather and forecasts.
